A Family-Friendly Swiss Butter Experience in London

Swiss Butter has taken the culinary world by storm, from its humble beginnings in Beirut to its viral success across the Middle East, Europe, and now London. Known for its simple yet irresistible offerings, it’s no wonder families, including the Kensington Mums team, were eager to experience this hotspot firsthand.

What Makes Swiss Butter Special?

Swiss Butter’s charm lies in its straightforward yet masterful menu, offering three premium options:

  • Chicken Breast
  • Salmon Fillet

A Few Tips for the Best Experience

While Swiss Butter’s popularity means queues can be long, the wait is undoubtedly worth it. The efficiency of the team and the vibrant buzz of the venue add to the overall experience. For families, it’s best to arrive slightly off-peak to avoid extended waits.

The perfect educational toy for pre-schoolers!

Christmas Guide 2024

This educational introductory board game is our favourite Christmas gift for pre-schoolers. It is a really fun take on the popular nursery rhyme ‘Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed’ to turn it into a board game where children spin an arrow to match each of the 25 magnetic monkeys with its correct bed.

Designed around the UK Department of Education’s Early Years Learning Goals, this toy is a fantastic way to help young children recognise colours and numbers, learn to play well in a group, wait their turn during the game and build on their observational skills.

Our favourite feature is that it combines nursery rhymes with STEM skills, which is a never-seen-before concept so apt for children this age. Introducing numbers through fun and play is the best way to set children up for success in mathematics and science when they grow up.

The 25 chunky monkeys are easy to grasp for little fingers and can also be used on refrigerators, metal boards or whiteboards – great for experimenting with numbers on the go! The set folds into a sturdy box which helps with keeping all the bits together once play is done. Finally, its affordable price makes this toy an absolute steal!

Nanny’s Intuition – The Journey to Finding Your Accomplished Nanny

Nanny's Intuition

Sponsored content: The Journey to Finding Your Accomplished Nanny

We have all been there, you’re trying to respond to an urgent work email whilst your toddler tugs at your sleeve, asking for attention. Your school children need help with a school project and before you know it, somehow, it’s already time to start thinking about dinner.  Sound familiar? If this scene feels familiar, you’re not alone.

Balancing a career with family life is one of modern parenthood’s greatest challenges. Many parents reach the point where they realise something needs to change – they need support, but not just any support. They need someone they can trust completely with their most precious gift: their children.

When the Wrong Choice Keeps You Awake at Night

We’ve heard the stories that make parents hesitate: the nanny who was always on their phone, the one who didn’t follow the family’s values, or worse, the one who seemed perfect on paper but lacked that essential connection with the children. These stories highlight what we’ve always known – finding the right nanny isn’t just about a tick-box exercise.

Nanny's Intuition

Understanding What “An Accomplished Nanny” Really Means

An accomplished nanny is so much more than their CV suggests. Yes, the basics matter – their qualifications, the three years of experience, DBS certification, Paediatric First Aid certification, verified references, and valid driving license. But these are merely the foundation. Just like building a house – you need solid foundations, but it’s what goes inside that makes it feel homely.

A truly accomplished nanny brings:

  • A genuine love for nurturing children’s growth
  • The ability to stay calm and compassionate during tantrums while teaching emotional regulation
  • The wisdom to know when to encourage independence and when to offer support
  • The creativity to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities
  • The flexibility to adapt to your family’s culture and changing needs
  • The commitment to maintain professional boundaries while becoming part of the family
  • Their specialist skills such as linguistics, academia, music, arts sports et al and elevate  your children’s full potential

The Day-to-Day Difference

Imagine coming home to find your children engaged in an activity they love, perhaps learning French while cooking a nutritious meal, or working through their maths homework with patience and understanding. Your accomplished nanny has already noted that your youngest is showing signs of being ready for potty training and has gently begun laying the groundwork. They’ve noticed your eldest’s interest in science and have incorporated simple experiments into their daily routine.

This isn’t just childcare – it’s childhood enrichment. Whether it’s supporting your children through the EYFS curriculum, helping with GCSE preparation, managing behavioural challenges, or nurturing special needs with expertise and compassion, an accomplished nanny adjusts their approach to match your family’s unique requirements.

Nanny's Intuition

Finding Your Perfect Match

When you search for a nanny agency near me  Nanny’s Intuition knows the journey can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’ve built our nanny agency on the same principles we look for in our nannies: integrity, trustworthiness, reliability, and genuine care for families’ well-being. As caring for children is such a personal affair, we don’t just match qualifications to requirements; we believe in connecting families with dedicated and passionate nannies.

Our nannies go through a rigorous screening that goes beyond the standard checks. We also use our intuition developed over the years to look for those special individuals who bring both professional excellence and personal warmth to their roles. They are the ones who will:

  • Maintain absolute confidentiality while sharing your family’s precious moments
  • Support your parenting decisions while offering gentle, experienced guidance
  • Create structure while remaining flexible enough to embrace life’s surprises
  • Build trust through consistency, communication, and genuine care

Your Next Step

Finding the right nanny doesn’t have to be a source of stress. As a London nanny agency with over 20 years of experience in childcare, we’re here to support you through every step of the journey. We understand because we’ve been there – both as childcare professionals and as parents ourselves.

Ready to find the accomplished nanny your family deserves? Book your free consultation via emailing us at wecare@nannysintuition.com or call us on 0207 459 4028. Let us be a part of your family’s journey, with your accomplished nanny by your side.

Essential skills for educational success

Cultural Capital
‘Cultural capital’, defined by Ofsted as “the essential knowledge that children need to be educated citizens”, is needed for children to succeed at a wide range of studies by the time they reach GCSE level. The Week Junior provides a solid, well-researched and broad offering of cultural capital, ensuring its readers – with the help of their parents – are in the best possible position to become well-educated citizens of the world.

Reading and Literacy
Even reluctant readers will enjoy The Week Junior’s digestible, engaging articles and will find themselves reading the whole magazine in a fraction of time they would finish a book; a great confidence boost whilst improving language and communication skills. Using the articles as a start point for discussions and debates at home is also an excellent way of improving children’s oracy – essential for personal and academic expression.

Skills for Learning
Being able to read and understand non-fiction texts is an essential skill for learners, one that will be relied upon throughout their education. Quality children’s journalism, such as The Week Junior, provides young people with an excellent point of reference when asked to write essays, newspaper articles, leaflets, and instructions – all of which will be expected at some stage of their education.

Curriculum-Linked Content
The Week Junior includes a wide range of topics and features that link to the curriculum, including world geography, STEM, sport, creative industries, climate change, politics and democracy, literature, equality, history, as well as wellbeing support. Children will find something useful, interesting, and inspiring in The Week Junior for almost every homework project imaginable.

About my Arbor: A Wellness Retreat, Your place to be

My Arbor is a family owned 5 star Spa “tree hotel” immersed in the peaceful mountains of South Tyrol in North Italy, the only one of its kind in the region and the biggest tree hotel in the country. Its contemporary architecture with views of the Dolomites is immersed in the woods and is perfectly integrated into the natural environment. This hotel is great for adults, couples or for mums who deserve some well deserved time off. This fits well with my Arbor’s motto being “MY philosophy” which focuses on “me-time” and offers maximum relaxation and flexibility for its guests. We could not agree more.

The design team behind the property wanted nature to feel as close as possible. Located at an altitude of almost 1,000m in a quiet spot on the edge of a forest, this luxury alpine resort looks as if it grew naturally out of the hillside. The building appears to float in the treetops; it is perched atop 66 tree-trunk stilts creating a refined treehouse experience that casts guests into a sense of escapism, offering fantastic views over the valley and surrounding mountain peaks.

Getting to my Arbor from London was easy with direct flights from London Gatwick to Verona, followed by breathtaking train views to Brixen Bressanone. A taxi organised by the Hotel is able to pick you up from the station to the Hotel. Other nearest airports include: Innsbruck; and Bolzano  airports.

Sleep Among the Treetops and Clouds in a Cozy Treehouse Nest

Kensington Mums  experienced a 3-night stay at the Nest Suite in My Arbor—a room designed for two with breathtaking views and ultimate comfort. Imagine sinking into a cozy, treehouse-like space that feels as though you’re floating over the clouds. As soon as you step inside, the panoramic windows and balcony draw your gaze to a spectacular landscape of South Tyrol’s Eisack Valley and majestic mountains.

My Arbor

My Arbor offers 104 luxurious suites across three categories, each providing a unique atmosphere: the Nest Suite (38m²), a snug hideaway ideal for two; the Hangout Suite (48m²), with a bit more space for relaxing; and the Treetop Suite (100m²), a true escape among the treetops. In these beautiful rooms, you wake up feeling recharged, embraced by nature, and grounded by the serene surroundings. My Arbor has created an experience where sleep feels like resting above the clouds, leaving you refreshed and re-energised each morning—exactly the restorative retreat mums deserve.

The Spa: A Sanctuary for Mums: My Arbor Hotel – The Ultimate Escape for Rest, Relaxation, and ‘Me-Time’

As mums, we often put ourselves last, but My Arbor in South Tyrol invites you to recharge and reconnect with yourself for some well deserved me time.  You get to put down your roots, blossom, nourish and grow while focusing on your wellness and mental health. This retreat offers a peaceful oasis for adults and couples, but especially for mums needing that precious time off. Nestled in the serene mountain forests, My Arbor wraps you in tranquility, allowing for total flexibility to rest, rejuvenate, or simply be. Whether it’s spa treatments, quiet woodland walks, or cozying up with a book, My Arbor is all about nurturing you in the ways you need most.

We were intrigued by their unique approach to wellness. In the sauna, steam room, and outdoor pool, swimsuits aren’t allowed, which encourages a wonderfully liberating, body-positive experience. Though unexpected, we found it surprisingly refreshing and deeply relaxing. You are able to wrap yourself in just a towel to enjoy the warmth unencumbered. This thoughtful tradition added a special, restorative dimension to my stay.

The in-house Spa Arboris is a 2,500 m² oasis of calm with infinity pool (indoor and outdoor), 10 treatment rooms, sauna area including 5 saunas, cold-water pool, infinity whirlpool, various relaxing areas and 10 outdoor relax rooms. Spa treatments are based on local trees and plants utilising their beneficial effect on body, mind and soul. Kensington Mums tried the Letting Go treatment, a 50 min clarifying head and neck massage focusing on letting go of any tension with a feeling of inner peace that sets in.

One of the Spa’s signature treatments is Arboris Tree Ritual which utilises the healing effects of the four Arboris trees – larch, Swiss pine, mountain pine and spruce, and includes: perfumed full-body peel; private sauna time; Arboris massage followed by relaxation time.

Nourish Your Body and Soul at My Arbor with Fresh, Local Ingredients

The culinary experience at My Arbor is a fusion of South Tyrolean and Italian cuisine with creative dishes from all over the world, wine cellar with wine sommelier, beer lounge with beer sommelier and bar with creative cocktails. The focus is on quality, local suppliers and home-made food and drinks. For breakfast, it was a buffet style as well a choice of a la carte menu. We stayed half board, so lunch was not included. You could choose from the menu for lunch overlooking the mountain views. Dinner was never a disappointment. Their salad bar was always fresh and delicious, this was then followed by a choice of a la carte menu where you can choose a selection of 5 small dishes which includes, starters, main and desserts. The food was delicious, staff were friendly and your table is always booked  under your room number. The first night, we were not sure what to order so we followed our waiter’s recommendations and took 5 small dishes each, and let me tell you we were stuffed. We would end the night on the terrace wrapped up in blankets or by the fire with hot mint tea before heading to our room.

Grow at My Arbor: Weekly Program of Wellness Activities

At my Arbor, you can immerse yourself in relaxation and personal growth with My Arbor’s thoughtfully curated weekly activities. From mindful movement to creative workshops, this program is designed to rejuvenate the body, mind, and soul.

Activities at the hotel include: wellness treatments, sauna infusions, salt scrub sessions yoga, forest bathing, hiking, skiing, biking, wine tasting, cultural experiences & shopping in Brixen.

We did a beautiful guided Hike to Astjoch, 39030 St. Lorenzen, Autonomous Province of Bolzano, which was over 2,200m with breathtaking views. We stopped at the end to a wonderful mountain restaurant that our guide took us to, and had a lovely and traditional desert called kaiserschmarrn: A sweet fluffy pancake made with rum-soaked raisins is torn into bite-sized pieces, caramelised, and served sprinkled with powdered sugar, applesauce, and preserves. It was much needed extra calories after the wonderful hike. Our guide was lovely, and so was out little group that included a couple from Australia, a gentleman from Saudi Arabia and friends from London.

My Arbor is a perfect all-year round destination with over 300 days of sunshine per year from where one can explore South Tyrol and enjoy everything this beautiful region has to offer during different seasons; alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and sledging in winter; hiking and biking in autumn, spring and summer, swimming in local lakes, attending local cultural events, tasting world-class white wine in local wineries, and experiencing Alpine and Mediterranean culture.
