This is something we strongly relate to here at Kensington Mums HQ.
When you become a first time Mum, you look to find other like minded mums to turn to, be it for support, a chat or just for a playdate. Lets be honest, we need another mummy friend to make us feel sane. Becoming a mum is generally one of life’s greatest experiences and greatest blessings. However, it can also be an extremely isolating one. Something perhaps some of you have gone through, including me. Many of us, live far away from our families and have very or little support around us. So if you’re a new mum in London or recently moved to London, where are you supposed to find this kind support?
Your vibe attracts your tribe. This little saying has stayed with me throughout my life even more so since I became a mother and I believe it to be 100% true!
Why does your mama tribe matter?
I can’t even begin to tell you how important it is to find your tribe. Your mama tribe members are the people that will just ‘get’ you and believe in you. They will share in your interests, messy playdates and baby tantrums that will eventually lead to teenage tantrums (it never gets easier). They accept you just the way you are, be it with no bra, no make up and the same sweat pants everyday. Sounds familiar?
Mothers really need a network support so that they won’t feel alone in a haze of milky delight during the first few months of being a Mum. Network support for mums – as the name suggests – supports mums in their journey of motherhood and off course parenting. Sharing tips, swapping advice and ideas are all important in a life of a mother who wants the best for her children. A mother’s instinct is always the best.
Parenting should not be about surviving tantrums or struggling with sleep or potty training. Seeing your gorgeous cute newborn change every day, is something to look forward to. The first smile, the first tooth, the first steps…these are truly milestones to cherish forever.
When you are going crazy for the school run or feeling unmotivated and lost remember that parenting is about enjoying time with your kids because they are only little for a short while.
