Two New Launches from Eaton Square

New Nursery School!

The Waiting List for Eaton Square Nursery Schools fills up quickly. Due to popular demand, Eaton Square will therefore be adding ‘The Nest’ – a new Nursery School for 2-4 year olds – to its current School family.

Based in Pimlico, The Nest will champion a child-focused environment and have a strong emphasis on learning through play. Like Eaton Square’s existing Treehouse, Beehive and Greenhouse Nursery Schools, The Nest promises to be an academic haven for young learners, encouraging them to explore their surroundings, experiment with different materials and interact with others in a playful and natural way.

Aside from a truly one-of-a-kind design (just as existing Eaton Square Nursery Schools feature a three-storey treehouse and beehive in which to explore, the new Nursery will feature its own ‘Nest’), Eaton Square’s approach to teaching and learning is underpinned by the latest research in early childhood development.

We spoke to Annabel Coaker, Admissions Director at Eaton Square Prep School, who says “It is well documented that play-based learning is highly effective in promoting children’s cognitive, social and emotional development. At Eaton Square, we strongly believe that children learn best when they feel happy, healthy and wholeheartedly supported. We have therefore structured the ethos, environment and entire learning approach of both our Prep and Nursery Schools to ensure this.”

In addition, children at Eaton Square Nursery Schools enjoy teaching from the very best Early Years specialists and plenty of outdoor play time. This, alongside regular encouragement to express themselves, share their thoughts and ideas, and develop positive relationships, provides a solid foundation for future academic success.

New STEAM Learning Centre

The belief that children learn best when they are having fun does not stop at Nursery.

It continues through to Reception at Eaton Square Prep School, and evidently reaps the benefits. Eaton Square has long been celebrated for academic excellence, as is best demonstrated by their repeatedly impressive 11+ results. Year 6 pupils consistently achieve offers from the UK’s leading senior schools: Westminster, St Paul’s, Dulwich, Eton, Harrow, Cheltenham Ladies College, Putney High, JAGS, Alleyns, Godolphin and Latymer, City of London – to name but a few.

To further bring their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) offering to new heights, Eaton Square Prep School will launch an innovative STEAM Learning Centre this September. Located on the first floor of the school, this vibrant learning space will truly bring the Sciences to life for pupils aged 4-11. Interactive features will include a dynamic floor, Draw Alive zone and two-storey space rocket in which to expand their learning.

Indeed, Science is a notable highlight at Eaton Square. For British Science Week 2023, the school teamed up with professional scientists from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Francis Crick Institute, UCL and The Royal Society, enabling pupils to get stuck into experiments, chemical reactions, plant workshops, mock antigen testing and even some heart dissections.
