Whatever you do make sure you spend time with your little ones, as they are only little for a short while. Summer Holiday Week Science & Arts Classes for 4-8 years. Join Little House of Science to learn about the incredible journey of a water drop and make a mini earth system to take home! And join them for a fascinating invention and the history of paper. You will also make and design your own paper to take home! Chelsea Fine Arts. Classes are taught on an individual basis: each student will have his or her own easel and still life or project. Tutors will attend to each student separately and as the class is not taught as a group, a full range of levels can be accommodated. A minimum of two consecutive sessions is advised. Students will have the opportunity to use a variety of media ranging from pencil, charcoal, pastel and paint together with collage and mixed media. The emphasis will be on mastering the basic skills of drawing and painting by improving observational skills together with learning techniques for using tone and colour. The class numbers will be limited to ensure a high level of individual attention. Booking essential.

Chelsea Physic Garden has a variety of Family Activity Days on offer to keep your little ones busy during the summer holidays. Discover the diverse world of animals in ‘Creepy crawling’, create sculptures, planes and kites in  ‘Pulp fiction’, spend a day creating ‘Recycled garden sculptures’ and celebrate the amazing substance which sustains all life on this planet in ‘Water World’. Number 1 London French Day Camp Et Patati Patata. Fun French Summer Day Camps Fulham. 3-11 year old. Starting from 20th of July – 7th of August 2015. Great way to learn French without leaving London! Stagecoach Holiday WorkshopsMonday 27 July to Friday 31 July . Main School (7 to 16 yrs) from 10am – 4pm daily

RugbyTots. If you are excited about the Rugby World Cup taking place this Autumn, then why not send your little one to Rugbytots – the first UK rugby specific play programme for 2-7 yr olds.  Due to demand more classes are being added all over SW London, visit their website for details of your local class and to book. The classes are separated into three age groups – 2 to 3.5 years, 3.5 to 5 years and 5 to 7 years and are fun, fast paced and very energetic ideal for burning off all that excess energy! Make your own movies this summer! The Summer Film Shoot is an action-packed week full of fun filmmaking in Balham, Chelsea, Hampstead and Highgate! Join us for 5 days over the summer holidays to produce a hit summer blockbuster. There is plenty of directing, camera work, crewing, editing and of course acting to be done, before the films are ready for their West End Red Carpet Premiere cinema event at the end of the summer. Summer is for Science. Richer Education are offering summer science school at world-renowned Imperial College in August. Choose from either one- or two-week options. Expand your child’s scientific mind through over 40 exciting topics ranging from marvellous medicine to extreme energy and much more. Students learn through a hands-on approach and are welcome to take home any objects they have made throughout the week. The emphasis is on fun, yet they will inspire learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning.  Check their website for more information.

Drama for kids. Allsorts drama for children are coming to Notting Hill this summer with two fantastic fun filled weeks of drama for your children to take part in. The weeks will be magical experiences for your children putting together a
show for family and friends. The workshops are suitable for ages 4 – 6 and 7 – 11. No experience is
necessary. The courses run from the 20th – 24th July and the 27th – 31st July from 9.30am – 3.30pm each day at Notting Hill Prep School, 95 Lancaster Road W11 1QQ. The full week costs £180 and there is a 20% sibling discount.  Allsorts also offer term time classes in SW1, W11 and NW3 for ages 4 – 16. Little Voices Theatre Weeks are a fun and fresh way for your child to spend their summer holidays.   Dates: 27th July, Tuesday 28th July, Wednesday 29th July, Thursday 30th July 2015, SW6 6JF. In the space of just four days your child will perform an entire play in front of an audience of friends and family. Not only will every child who comes on theatre week have lines to say, they will have learnt songs, street dances inspired moves and will have made lots of new friends too. Booking required.

Join London Transport Museum this summer for their family-friendly programme of activities and events from Monday 27 July to Sunday 30 August 2015. The Museum has teamed up with Mr. Men and Little Miss to celebrate the launch of their new book Mr. Men in London and will be running larger-than-life storytimes and creative workshops for the whole family. Little ones can also play in the All Aboard family play zone, listen to interactive river inspired stories, and take part in a Be Safe public transport challenge.

Primetime at the Royal Court Theatre. Starting 18 – 25 July. A series of short plays written by primary school children aged 8 – 11. This summer holiday, you and your little ones are invited on an intergalactic mission through the minds of our young playwrights, where you’ll meet Mr Moon, Grandpa Ninja and Sauce Jagger to name a few. Discover the perils of turning into an umbrella, being thrown back through time or becoming a monarch who lives amongst a pile of cow pats. Be a Nature Explorer. 
Saturday 25 July – Sunday 30 August at the Wetland Centre. Have your children ever tried pond dipping?  Do they know how to track creatures or identify animal poo? Have they ever seen the insect that can fly better than a helicopter?  Exploring the natural world is one of the most fascinating gifts you can give your children. This summer bring your youngsters to WWT London Wetland Centre to pick up their passport to a summer of fun.  Children can collect a passport – free with paid admission – with eight wildlife themed activities on it and for every challenge they complete they’ll get a sticker, making them an official Nature Explorer!

Free events

CARiFiT has been carefully created for mothers with babies aged six weeks to six months old and encourages the reintroduction of exercise, as well as an opportunity to get closer to your baby whilst working out. The 30min routine focuses on restoring your core, strengthening your overall posture, toning key areas and increasing your heart rate, by using a mixture of interval training techniques. The CARiFiT music has even been specially created in collaboration with early year’s educational specialist, Pollyanna Williscroft. Punctuated with bursts of sensory music for the babies, also allows a rest for the mothers and a chance to interact and explore with your baby.

The National Gallery. TAKE ONE PICTURE: Discover, Imagine, Explore. Take One Picture is the National Gallery’s flagship project for primary schools. The works in this year’s display demonstrate the innovative ways in which schools have responded to Saint Michael Triumphant over the Devil by Bartolomé Bermejo. From drawing to collage and metalwork, the diverse range of works on show reflects the richness of creative responses to the painting. Shape and size, light and dark, good versus evil were just some of the themes explored by children. Until 20 September 2015, Annenberg Court. Admission is free.
