Kensington Mums is proud to announce that we are partnering with female founded company – The Next Billion – to offer their Profile[me] mini professional portrait service to KMâs community of entrepreneurial and professional mothers starting from July 2019.
The Next Billion is an impact driven company founded by British/Congolese Babou Olengha-Aaby, whose company is on a mission to close the visibility gap for women entrepreneurs and business owners globally by raising their profile.
ABOUT PROFILE[ME]
Profile[me] was launched in 2016 as an initiative by The Next Billion to celebrate International Womenâs Day. After successful editions in Oslo, Trondheim, Auckland (New Zealand) and Copenhagen the initiative was expanded into a daily service in January of 2019 for female entrepreneurs and women business leaders in Oslo. The company is now rolling out this service to other cities around the world. And the first stop is London where the company will be offering Profile[me] shoots several days every month, starting from July 2019.
WHY VISIBILITY MATTERS?
We all know that a picture speaks a thousands words, that most of us form our first impressions of someone in the first few seconds of seeing them. And even on professional platforms such as LinkedIn, simply having a profile photo results in up to 21x more profile views and 9x more connection requests. Yet, so many of us still undervalue the power that a great portrait picture can have to elevate our profile. Thatâs why we created Profile[me] explains Babou.
“Profile[me] was born from our desire to help female entrepreneurs and women business leaders raise their visibility by offering them the opportunity to book mini portrait photo sessions with our very talented crowdsourced network of photographers at a great price. To help them take control of how they want to be portrayed.  In short, Profile[me] is an invitation to show up, not show off. To be seen, to be discovered, to be recognised. Itâs definitely not about vanity, but rather about visibility.â
Weâve recently added tech to our offering with the inclusion of an invisible watermark to all the portraits we shoots. This allows us to protect our clients image and notify them of any unlicensed usage of their pictures whether online or in print. And moreover, the technology allows us to track and monitor our clients visibility in the media and the press. We are very excited about the addition of this latest technology to our service, concludes Babou.

ABOUT THE SHOOTS
Profile[me] mini professional portrait sessions are 20mins long. The shoots are priced at $89.99 and clients receive 3 high-quality profile images. The Next Billion has so far shot just under 100 portraits and are looking to roll the service in more cities worldwide.Â
We are very excited to offer Profile[me] to our members. Especially as the service supports KMâs brand new coffee morning concept called âLetâs talk businessâ which will give mumpreneurs the tools they need to help them with their branding and visibility.
A little fun anecdote about The Next Billion, weâd like to share with you. The company started as a crowdfunding platform for mumpreneurs called Mums Mean Business. Babou also created the logo and strapline for Kensington Mums at the inception of the idea.
