Please introduce yourself: Name, what do you do & how many children you have.
I am Mira, Pilates Teacher at MindBodyMira and a mom of 4 yr old girl named Dara.
I help people find their best version of themselves ( mentally and physically) through movement. You can find me on insta @mindbodymira or Facebook MindBodyMiraPilates.
How do you manage to juggle work and life balance as a mother?
I am fortunate enough to be able to work part time and choose my own hours, yet I still struggle because I am not the most organised (I blame my ADD)
What top tips would you give to any working mum?
To always find time for yourself, even if it is 10mins for a quick meditation before bedtime. To stop blaming yourself for the things you think you are lacking (i.e. time for your kid, higher work productivity) and to start rewarding yourself for the amazing work you are doing every day. Be it showing up at work or for your kid/s.
What do you love most about London? Do you have a favourite spot with your children?
The diversity, the parks and of course, the restaurants. I like exploring more with her and less spending time at playgrounds.
How do you define quality ‘me-time’?
Taking a walk or going shopping (even to Waitrose) alone, dinners with friends, talking about everything but kids, travelling alone (girls weekend, obviously pre-Covid) and most often-taking a workout class that I am not teaching but being thought.
What is your favourite & least favourite thing about parenthood?
It’s the most rewarding job in the entire world, little conversations with a mini me that make me laugh and uplift me every day. The least is the constant stress that comes hand in hand with motherhood that more and more Moms now talk about.
Tell us something people don’t know about you.
I am obsessed with documentaries about serial killers. I actually have a friend whom I share this passion with, which makes me feel less weird about it.
Given we are all about embracing Motherhood, what advice would you give a first time Mum?
You.come.first. Healthy baby needs a healthy Momma to thrive. Taking care of your mental and physical state is more than important. Also, do not obsess over small things, they would be different tomorrow.
9. I’m a mum and……
a big empath. I love helping people through movement and listening to their stories.
Finally, please let us know what you love most about Kensington Mums?
Kensington Mums is full of valuable information, one click away. I enjoy the most the other interviews with fellow moms.
