Motherhood by Amanda Frolich

Please introduce yourself: Name, what do you do & how many children you have.

My name is Amanda Frolich. I teach preschool children how to be active and healthy using my fun, fitness and music concept.

How do you manage to juggle work and life balance as a mother?

I will be completely honest, it is HARD WORK to keep everyone happy. I have a business to run but at the end of the day, my family come first. When my daughter was growing up it was a lot easier as I had my mother to help me with childcare during the week. My husband looked after Bibi at weekends whilst I entertained at children’s birthday parties. Bibi is now 12 years old and wants to spend more time with me, therefore I am employing extra staff to be able to do that.

What top tips would you give to any working mum?

Limit use of your phone whilst spending time with your family. I always felt guilty when Bibi would say to me ‘mummy please put your phone down and listen to me’.

Make time to plan fun activities with your children.

Organise your food shop and prepare meals that are fresh yet easy and quick to make.

I’m a mum and……

What do you love most about London?  Do you have a favourite spot with your children?

London is fascinating! Sooooo many amazing attractions to visit and architecture to be seen. Bibi is very active, together we like to walk around Holland Park and Hyde Park. There is so much to see and do!

How do you define quality ‘me-time’?  Everyone would have a different opinion on what me time means to the individual.

My ‘me-time’ would be spending two hours in the gym, going for a Sauna and steam, then having a manicure and pedicure!

What is your favourite & least favourite thing about parenthood?

If you are blessed to have a child then everyday should be positive. Bibi has a great personality therefore my favourite thing about being a parent is how she makes me laugh. My daughter is a bit of a comedian. Helping her through adolescence has been quite tough.

Tell us something people don’t know about you.

I met my husband Jason at school, we have been together since we were both 19 years old. We are now 47!

Given we are all about embracing Motherhood, what advice would you give a first time Mum?

Choose a really good pram and don’t buy every toy on the planet as you will only end up giving them all away.

Finally, what do you love most about Kensington Mums?

I was entertaining for Kensington mums when they first set up 6 years ago. I have watched them grow and develop to become a support group for many mothers. I am a big fan of theirs!
