Kensington Mums racing for lives

Kensington Mums was proud to be a team leader for Race for Life. On Sunday 14th of July 2013, the Kensington Mums team gathered at Hyde Park to take part in Race for Life to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK‘s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.  Each Mums had her own story to share on why they wanted to take part so we were all looking forwards for the day. By 10am we were at the park for warm up, including little ones all dressed in pink and mums with pink nails matching.

Seeing 10,000 people line up for the 5k run was so inspiring. The atmosphere was buzzing with an electric mix of woman all united and running in one direction to beat cancer.

Part of the team ran and the other enjoyed a nice sunny walk around Hyde Park. Along the way we read some inspiring messages on participants back sign, with reasons why they are taking part. Some were truly inspiring.

We all finished with a medal and some much needed water. People ran the Race for Life for so many different reasons; in the memory of loved ones, celebration of survivors and hope for the future.   The day was a great accomplishment for all.

Thank you all for your support and for sponsoring our team. We managed to raise £1,478.00 which was beyond our target. So thank you!
