Last weekend Kensington Mums were treated to a scrumptious food hamper by CasaCosta.

A Hamper is one way to describe it but another way would be a “treat to the senses”! Starting with the hip paper box design with iconic and meaningful prints: the transformation brought on by the mermaid, the rebellion of David Bowie and the stamp of high quality brought on by the personal portrait of Chef Roberto Costa. Moving on to the small Lavender bunch you find when you open the box, the neat packaging of every ingredient and most importantly the rich selection of food and drinks!

CasaCosta is launched by restaurateur Roberto Costa. It is a brand new, bespoke delivery service bringing the quintessential Italian kitchen, larder and butcher to the homes of West London, Chelsea, Fulham, South Kensington and Battersea.

What to expect?

Our hamper included 2 types of dry pasta (Spaghetti and Penne Maccheroni Napolitano from Italy), a Home-made meat Ravioli, Chili Peppers stuffed with Tuna (to die for!), Italian Salami, Stracciatella cheese for pasta, Tocco Genovese, Tomato Puree and Taralli Al Finocchio (bringing back so many memories) and finally a bunch of fresh thyme. Wait there is more! A classic Italian Dolomiti Beer and small elegant Gin decanter and a bottle of tonic.

You can easily cook a number of dinners out of the hamper.

We had the Chili Peppers and Salami as antipasti along with some green olives (from our fridge J). We are definitely going for some more of that.

We cooked the ravioli simply with some CasaCosta tomato puree and added a sprinkle of parmesan (a favourite). It was simply delicious and the difference in taste is not debatable. This is a child friendly dish (in fact most of the ingredients are child friendly and all allergy notices are clearly listed on each package).

On another evening we had the spaghetti cooked with cherry tomato (from our fridge) and a scoop of Stracciatella (another favorite). We also sampled the Penne with Genovese Sauce and shaving of parmesan.


While my husband and I might differ on which dish we preferred most, we both agree it is on our list for future ordering (not now but in a few weeks given the food indulgence). The whole experience was really a treat and especially during a time where both going to a restaurant and/or traveling seem like far away possibilities.

Costa is passionate about showcasing the very best ingredients from his home country, hand-selecting items from trusted producers. Through years in the industry, Costa has developed close relationships with those producers in Italy that supply the culinary world with some of the finest ingredients, essential to any kitchen.

Roberto is an Italian restaurateur who has opened more than forty restaurants in Italy, London and Miami. He has spent his whole career championing the unique ingredients from his home country, and thanks to his dedication, in May 2017, he became the firstGourmet Ambassador to his birth town of Genoa. A passion for food is part of his DNA and has gone to huge lengths to research, sample and connect with the best producers over his thirty years of experience. Now, he is bringing this research to the doorsteps of Londoners in unique, tailor-made packaging.

Directly sourced from producers, CasaCosta showcases products essential for any Italian food lover, all selected personally by Costa himself and some available exclusively through the site. True to form, the meat will feature cuts of the renowned Fassona beef, championed by Roberto throughout his career, along with quality chicken, lamb and sausages. The Italian larder is packed full of charcuterie, fresh bread, pasta and sauces with a range of essentials such as eggs, flour, bacon, balsamic, cheese and dairy products plus a selection of fruits and vegetables.

Everything is well thought of and neatly packaged while also being environment friendly. Using the very latest in packaging technology, CasaCosta ensures that food arrives in the utmost condition. The inside of each and every box is carefully sanitised and securely sealed before being delivered. Woolcool provides high-performance insulation, using 100% pure sheep’s biodegradable wool fibres inside the fleece liners that lasts up to 72 hours keeping products at the optimal temperature. Any plastics used are easily recyclable at local authority waste depots.The cardboard delivery boxes are produced using recycled materials with FSC standards, and are easily recyclable at local authority waste depots.
