Every child is a genius at Hyde Park School

Hyde Park School is a co-educational independent preparatory school, operating across two fantastic central London locations. The school is an inspiring, calm and creative learning environment, where children gain the tools to become confident, independent thinkers and compassionate citizens of the world.

The Pre-preparatory and nursery school for children from the age of two is situated behind Marble Arch within a beautiful walled garden where the children have plenty of room to explore, run around, and learn.

They spend as much time out of doors as they can, digging in the vegetable patch, making castles in a giant sandpit, running under the trees, playing on the large slide and playing games on the grass.

The Preparatory school for girls and boys aged 5 to 11 is in the heart of South Kensington, and the children love the rich and creative educational experience on offer to them.

The school spends time to find out what makes your child happy, how they learn well, what their talents and interests are, and what they find challenging. They will give your child the support and encouragement they need to learn to the best of their ability and achieve at the highest level, constantly monitoring their progress to make sure they continue to thrive.

Hyde Park school is a short walk away from Hyde Park itself, so the pupils head there for fresh air and exercise every day. Indoors the school has a stunning ballroom for dance, workshops and assemblies and a dedicated music room for individual lessons.

As an independent school, Hyde Park have the freedom to tailor their own curriculum which means they are able to offer a huge breadth of academic lessons that extend way beyond traditional ‘core subjects’ like maths and English. For instance, they offer Latin and Mandarin as a language option, as well as coding classes and hands on science lessons at Imperial College.

In addition, they offer an extensive extra-curricular timetable, which gives students the opportunity to take part in everything from skiing and judo, to ballet dancing and even horse riding.

All around the school are wonderful places of learning, knowledge and culture: the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum, Imperial College, the Wigmore Hall, the V&A, the Royal Geographic Society and the Royal Albert Hall are all within a short distance from the school.

The school invites researchers, teachers, practitioners and performers from these famous institutions to come and spend time with them, and they visit them at every opportunity, heading out of the classroom on a regular basis.

However, what really sets Hyde Park School apart is the Headmistress’s overarching belief that every child is a genius in their own way. She believes it is up to her and her staff to help them discover that inner genius and nurture it so every child can grow and flourish.

Come and see for yourself what makes Hyde Park School so unique at one of their upcoming Open Mornings on Wednesday 4th October and Wednesday 29th November. Please book in online or contact the Registrar.
