In this week’s scoop we have selected fun family days out to explore with your little ones including mummy and baby cinema, as well as a family workshop on making your own musical. Sounds like fun! Stay tuned for our next coffee morning taking place in November, this is based on first come first served, so make sure you are subscribed so you will always be the first to know. We have our healthy eating event taking place this week, if you would like to attend we still have a few places left and as always babies and toddlers are always welcome. Our pamper evening is sold out and this is taking place next week. Until then, wishing you and your little ones are good start of the week.

Children Safety with the Kensington and Chelsea Metropolitan Police. Keeping our Kensington Community Safe. Nov 20th from 7-8pm at Whole Foods Kensington. This  talk will cover school safety as well as playground safety in parks. Please click here to RSVP. FREE event.

imageParent & Child Activity Workshop. 15th October 2014. Parents’ Centre at Maxilla Children Centre from 9.45am-11.15am.  Making musical instruments.  Enjoy play and learning activities with your child in these interactive and informative workshops – Particularly suitable for parent/carers and children aged 18m-4yrs. Booking necessary. The Big Draw Event. Giant Dolls House workshop Sat 18th October from 10-12pm and 2-4pm. An open workshop which is part of exhibit of a large Kitchen Island and growing installation of hand-made ‘dolls houses’. A participatory workshop as part of an exhibit of an installation of dolls’ houses made from shoe boxes portraying the participants’ individual ideas of what a home means and looks like to each of them. For two months leading up to the event they will be working with community groups to build up a display of ‘dolls houses’ which will be exhibited in the venue alongside the kitchen island.This Big Draw workshop invites a larger audience to join and develop the extensive installation at the event and encourages the audience to build, make, draw and design there own ‘homes’ using a wide range of materials. If you would like to make a dolls house, please bring your own box (shoe boxes are ideal size) if you have one to the event. Other activities will include drawing and responding to the installation. Chocolate Week, the nation’s favourite themed week, returns for a tenth consecutive year, celebrating the world of fine chocolate from 13th to 19th October, 2014. The week culminates with the Chocolate Show London at Olympia West from 17th to 19th October, bringing the best of the industry together all under one roof. Don’t forget to enter our competition and win tickets to the Chocolate Show.

Rug Rhymes at SouthBank Centre. Alternative Fridays until 19th December. FREE. Under-fives and their carers are invited to join the Poetry Library puppets, Federico and Firebird, on their poem rug to find out. A short session of nursery rhymes, poems and rhyming stories is followed by the opportunity to look at and borrow books from our ever-growing children’s collection.
