The Snowman and Paddington – Live in Concert.

Delight your family with a double-bill of classic musical stories for children at the Royal Albert Hall, featuring beloved characters The Snowman™ and Paddington Bear™. The first half of the concert features the score from Herbert Chappell’s Paddington Bear’s First Concert, performed at the Hall for the very first time by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and a special guest narrator. In the second half of the concert, we are delighted to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Raymond Briggs’ magical picture book The Snowman™. The enchanting animated film will be shown on the big screen while Howard Blake’s heart-melting score is performed live.


The Nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall.

Following a critically-acclaimed season in 2017, Birmingham Royal Ballet brings its especially-created version of this Christmas ballet back to the Royal Albert Hall. With its spectacular setting, grand ensemble pieces and ravishing Tchaikovsky score, The Nutcracker is without a doubt the quintessential Christmas treat for all the family. Created especially for the Royal Albert Hall, with gorgeous period costumes, stunning lighting, and dazzling projections by Tony Award-winning 59 Productions, the spectacular staging of this Christmas classic is brought to life by Birmingham Royal Ballet’s world-class dancers and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.


 

Father Christmas at the Hall.

Father Christmas needs some very special little helpers to visit his HQ, where they’ll learn Christmas magic, see a real sleigh and help Santa’s elves make enough toys in time for Christmas Eve! Father Christmas at the Hall is much more than a usual grotto and this year, the experience will be more magical than ever. In this hour long interactive experience, little helpers will journey through spaces within the historic Royal Albert Hall and meet a range of enchanting characters from the North Pole, including toy soldiers, fairies, workshop elves, toymakers, and of course, the real Father Christmas.


Arctic and Antarctic Science Lab

Join Little House of Science, Arctic and Antarctic Science Lab and learn about the North and South Poles and their Ecosystems. Discovery the mysterious past of Antarctica and how the climate change affected it. Explore various food chains and various adaptations of the Arctic and Antarctic Animals. Become an Inuit for a day and design engineering solutions to survive in the cold. What is carbon and its role in the greenhouse effect and how can we help to stop the global warming. We are at Baden-Powell House in South Kensington from 17-21 Dec 2018 and 2-4 Jan 2019 from 9.30-3.30 (free early drop-off at 8.45 daily). The Snow Queen, Chelsea

The Snow Queen is coming to Chelsea this December with a Santa’s Grotto at Under the Bridge! 🎅🏼 ❄️ For the first time this December, Under the Bridge will transform into the ultimate Christmas destination as it brings a large dose of festive spirit to West London and presents an enchanting show for all the family. The shows run daily at 11am from December 14th – 21st. Tickets start at £10.


Christmas at Market Hall Fulham

Fill yourself with holiday cheer this Christmas at Market Hall Fulham! For kids, Market Hall and Sharky & George are bringing you a magical Christmas Grotto, including hour-long party in Lapland, games, crafts and a gift from Santa.
Planning a Christmas party? Market Hall are taking bookings for table reservations, private hire of their new event space and exclusive hire of the whole venue, all decorated for Christmas. Enjoy Christmas specials, like the turkey and spiced stuffing Christmas kebab with parsnip crisps from Fanny’s Kebabs, and winter warmers of mulled wine and boozy hot chocolate from the bar.


Maggie & Rose Big Kids Camps

Maggie & Rose is the most brilliant family members club and nursery! We have a super awesome space where your little ones learn through play, inspire their creativity through art, music and cooking. Wonder what your little ones will create today? Our legendary Big Kids Camps will return on Monday 10th December, running through to Friday 4th January. Rock Out at Upbeat this Christmas

The Original London Pop and Rock School.19th – 21st December 10.00-4.00  4-14yrs (divided into age appropriate groups)  at Thomas’s Fulham. You go Christmas shopping and we have a creatively Christmassy time with your children – rehearsing, writing, recording and performing Songs for Christmas! Dance, electric guitars, drums and an end of course gig all included.  Children also receive their very own original Upbeat recording. Fully trained teachers and professional musicians deliver 3 jam-packed days of musical fun, where each individual’s abilities and interests are nurtured.Course coordinated and taught by Upbeat Director – Maxine Owens (BA Hons, PGCE, Head of Music in top London prep schools).

Family fun at the Natural History Museum Ice Rink.

Hailed as a London institution, the iconic Natural History Museum Ice Rink is now open for the 2018 festive season. Set against the stunning backdrop of one of London’s best-loved landmarks, skaters can take to the ice at the enchanting rink from Thursday 25 October throughout the winter period. It has now been announced that the ice rink will stay open longer than ever before, until Sunday 20 January 2019.
