The Studio in Kensington

We are proud to share with you The Studio based at the Kensington Close Hotel, a new specialist classes and activities for children age 0-8 with education at the core.

Introducing, violin, Kindermusik, and French Rhyme Time as well as Homework Clubs.

The Studio Kensington  offers classes which are led by experienced teachers who are experts in their area, CRB checked and highly enthusiastic. Your children will have a lot of fun whilst learning.

Group Violin Lessons (4 to 8)

Group Violin for children aged 4-8 using Suzuki techniques.  From beginners upwards. Learning music in a group helps children master harmony and promotes listening to others – critical skills in musicianship. Children can move groups as they progress ensuring individual development flourishes too.

Kindermusik is suitable for children 0-7 – based on the theories of Kodály, Orff & Suzuki. Kindersmusik is the international music program for children with a huge following in the USA and South Africa. It has been specifically developed over more than 30 years to encourage social and emotional development, cognitive function, language, literacy and physical skills.

Classes  are split by age: 0-1, 1-2s, 2-3s, 3-4s, 4-5s, 6-7s.

Older children learn to read music, learn about classical composers including Beethoven & Bach and play instruments all whilst participating in a fun, friendly class with lots of active participation, songs and laughter. The perfect bridge to learning an individual instrument.

Younger children learn about tone, instruments & types of music. There are opportunities to play instruments and explore through voice and movement. The musical learning journey can be continued at home with take home CDs and materials provided. Kindermusik has been proven to improve literacy and language skills.

French Story & Rhyme Time

The perfect introduction to French. A great way for French speakers to gain exposure outside the home. This wonderful activity has children mesmerized by puppetry, images and costumes used to tell stories and sing songs. Children (and adults) can sing along and follow the journeys of (well known) French characters.

After School Homework & Activities Club

If homework is getting you down or your child needs a little bit of extra help then this is the club for you. Led by experienced teachers, the ratio of teachers to children will never be more than 1:5. Aimed at children from reception to year 3 help will be given with maths, English (reading and writing) and French. Sign up is for a term so if there are specific things you want covered with your child we can work on them week by week. We will also help with work that may not be schoolwork such as out of school reading, writing or maths schemes. After homework is completed there will be fun games, crafts and activities each one encouraging conversation and language or spatial awareness and fine motor skills.

In January they will be starting some more excellent classes so stay tuned.
