Summer London Beaches

Spending the summer in London? Miles from the coast and want to go to the beach or cool off and swim? Worry not here is our run down of top places in London – north, south, east, west and central London to cool down and swim this summer and get to the beach!

Firstly, here’s our selection of the best places to hang out and get some beach time in London. Some are family friendly and some are perfect for a night out with friends!

1. Fulham Beach Club

Neverland London, Wandsworth Bridge Road, London, SW6 2TY . Neverland beach in Fulham. This Thames-side beach spot with real sand, cabanas and daybeds is back for 2018 unfortunately this year there is no BYOB but there is food from Jimmy Garcia’s BBQ Club pop up restaurant – serving cocktails, beers and brunch, Pineapple Pizza and live DJ’s. Hire a Beach Hut and try outdoor circuits and yoga classes on the beach, plus sand sculpting and many other events! Booking is essential.

2. The Beach Bar

The Beach Bar in Bloomsbury’s The Montague transforms into a seaside getaway for the summer. Complete with real sand, a beach-hut style thatched roof, delicious cocktails, palm trees and more – you’ll feel like you’re basking in the Bahamas rather than in the heart of central London. Open until 21st September 2018.


3. Urban London Beach

London’s Royal Docks
Fancy relaxing by the Thames and eating an ice cream on a sandy beach? You can from 18 July – 2 September in London’s Royal Docks Urban Beach right under the Emirates airline cable car. Deckchairs, street food, classes and more.


4. Hampstead Beach

Summer’s coming to Hampstead’s urban beach, with golden sand, amazing food and cocktails to set the mood for long evenings of sun, fun and holiday vibes. Hampstead Beach comes back to JW3 for 2018; has free entry and will be open from Sunday to Friday. Special events taking place on the beach throughout the summer will be announced soon.


5. Southbank Centre

Can’t get to the seaside but want to enjoy the beach? Come to Southbank Centre this summer and they can help you out. Bring your own bucket and spade, and we’ll supply 85 tonnes of golden, play sand for you to enjoy for free – and hopefully some sunshine to go with it.
