A simple application guide has been launched which gives clear step-by-step instructions as well as helpful hints, tips and deadlines to help communities come together and host a fun and safe street party in their local area. Residents can apply to host a street party for free and the application process is open until Sunday 1 May 2022.

Cllr Emma Will, Lead Member for Culture, Leisure and Community Safety, said:

“These jubilee celebrations are a fantastic way for our communities to get together and honour Her Majesty’s outstanding service as our longest-reigning monarch. We’re delighted that people are coming together locally, so we’re committed to making the process as simple as possible to apply to host street parties for free.

“We will also be providing funding to support community organisations to hold local events such as Tea for the Queen for our older residents who may be socially isolated, bereaved, lonely or housebound.”

The Kensington and Chelsea Over 50s Forum, led by Lady Arnold Deputy Lieutenant and voluntary organisations across the borough are working with the Council to organise this Tea for the Queen community luncheon, themed as an indoors street party for our older residents.
