Kensington Mums x Design Museum

You are invited to join Kensington Mums on a private tour and coffee morning at the Design Museum on Friday 20th of May from 10am-12pm. This invitation is open to all of our subscribers, if you are not a subscribers you can subscribe by clicking here.

The Design Museum building tour outlines the architectural highlights of its current use as the Design Museum and its previous use as Commonwealth Institute. The tour will cover the separate histories of these two institutions and how these two stories merged though architecture, by reusing a landmark from post-war British architecture and transforming it in the current design hub that the museum is now. The tour starts on the ground floor and makes its way up to the top floor by following the spiral shape of the atrium stairs. In its way up, the guide will make stops to point the relevance of certain design and architecture aspects of the building through its 60 years of history.

Babies, kids and toddlers welcome. We have limited availability, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks either from the Design Museum café  which has newly opened or from elsewhere. Buggy park is also available. Admission is free to all of our Kensington Mums members and subscribers.
