Kensington Mums reviews
Siene Totem was launched in December 2020 after a newly married couple found they both shared a creative spark! Kensington Mums was lucky enough to review this lovely and interactive website with our kids as a fun afternoon activity.

About the creators

Couple team: Neha Bansal (a doctor working in the NHS) and Chamkur Dosanjh (an accountant) with limited tech know-how but oodles of creativity came up with the idea during lockdown. This platform is designed to be as interactive as possible with an added layer of covert learning through encouraging young minds to think, but most importantly with an emphasis on fun!

Siene Totem is bursting with activities, so what’s included?

Customisable welcome animations, background themes and profile creation, after finding your Totem animal. Log in is easy, with a username and password. Once kids finished thier online school, we were spending some quality time offline. When you are working from home, getting the kids occupied becomes a priority. This was easy to do since my daughter was sitting next to me while I was working and I would always overlook and see the activities she was doing. I would also join in myself. The platform is suitable for ages 7-14 years old.

It’s a safe place for young minds to unleash their creativity!

Once you join , you get the first month free, then its only £2.99 per month. You can cancel anytime, with no contract. The platform is divided into different sections, the visuals are very colourful and age appropriate.  Kids can also choose the background they want including, Panda, unicorns, tiny professor, rocket and animals. Within the platform, there are different sections. These are:
1. Storybook maker: Don’t just read stories, design your characters, make your pages for your book and share it with your friends! Neha and Chamkur worked with a designer to create their very own ‘Tiny Professors’ characters for kids to play with.
2. Magazines: Don’t just read your magazines, get involved by creating articles and submitting comments! A new magazine topic is released every month and kids get instant access to all issues released. We specially loved the Unicorns are awesome maybe because my little one is obsessed with unicorns. Within the magazine they ask you questions to engage with children.
3. Create colouring pages: Bored of the same old colouring books? Why not design your own to print and colour in! You can drag and drop stencils to your page, re-size them, turn them upside down, flip them backwards and more! From daisies to dragons, there’s tonnes of stencils to choose from! This section was great as it helped work on kids creativity and imagination. Using a blank canva they can really let their imagination go.
4. Colouring pages: Say goodbye to stacks of colouring books! Totem includes a library of high quality colouring pages to print including Unicorns, Mandalas, Zentangles and more! We really loved the doodles and borders which included many different designs.
5. Share and connectTotem kids get to connect with their friends through the art they create.
6. Games and competitions: Basecamp announcements of new competitions and retro games are also included! The games included, old time favourite Tetris, Pac Maker and Neon Bricks.
