Kensington Mums reviews
We have all been enjoying the glorious British summer weather on and what better way to enjoy this time than to take a short trip to the beautiful Fulham Reach and sit in a riverside brasserie – an award winning development conveniently positioned along the breathtaking views of the River Thames.Â
The high end apartments boast views of the Hammersmith Bridge and beyond as well as a riverside promenade perfect for a delicious summer’s day. This area is within reach of four underground lines – Hammersmith and City, Circle, District and Piccadilly lines, making it very well connected. For those who choose to drive, there are plenty of pay and display bays just metres from the restaurant, making it very convenient for parents with young children as well.
After a short stroll we found the decadent Raymond Blanc Brasserie facing the river. We were greeted by the lovely Sian who took us through the menu and explained the inspiration behind the Champagne and Souffle menu. The menu was first launched to celebrate the start of the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament on the 28th of June, and taking inspiration from the strawberries and cream synonymous with this famous championship. The souffles are served with a luxurious glass of Lanson champagne, which are also sponsors of Wimbledon. The menu lovingly fuses the classic French cuisine with the “quintessential English summer day”. The new souffle and champagne menu has proven to be so popular that they have kept it as an afternoon delight for the summer, served between 2-5pm Monday-Saturday, perfect for an afternoon treat with friends or loved ones.

First, we enjoyed a sumptuous lunch – a Hamburger and a squid salad. Both were cooked to perfection. The meat patty was juicy and came with a side of crispy french fries. The salad, prepared with an asian inspired dressing. The squid was not over cooked and was paired with delicious salad greens. We both enjoyed this delicious meal and we were ready for the souffle delight!
After the necessary top up of our champagne flutes, the souffles came out! The portions were generous and definitely enough for more than 2 people to share. We sampled the 3 flavours on offer, my favourite was the Apricot, almond and Amaretto, souffle with a side of ice cream, but all three were delicious. The light and airy strawberries and cream souffle was served with vanilla ice cream and strawberry coulis. Finally the signature pistachio souffle paired with a side of rich chocolate ice cream.
Raymond Blanc commented: “The soufflé is synonymous with France and a dish such as strawberries and cream is quintessentially English. Chef Clive took these winning combinations and created an afternoon treat with a twist.”
This is a treat not to be missed this summer, and best of all during the month of August, children dine free, perfect for our Kensington Mums readers. There is a choice of Raymond Blanc Brasseries to enjoy from Southbank to Beaconsfield as well as the one we visited in Fulham Reach; we are sure you will enjoy this refreshing feast fit for the perfect English summer day.
