What do you get from the Childbirth Education class?
I am a prenatal yoga instructor. I teach pregnant women how to stay healthy and how to connect with their bodies, their minds, and their babies. Through yoga, we study and learn how the body works and changes in both scientific and natural ways. I also empower my pregnant students to trust in their bodies and encourage them to understand and embrace the experience of childbirth on their way to becoming good mothers.
Childbirth Education class is another part of my job which helps connect mom and dad as a team and strengthen their bond with each other as they go through this life-changing experience together. My friends and family, especially the men (dads and boyfriends),
told me that if they could have known what they could do and how they could be involved, they would have known how to be better partners and fathers.
I’ve had the experience of running prenatal yoga workshops. I invited dads to attend as well. After the class, moms came to me to say thank you, to express how the class helped them feel more confident with their bodies, connect with their babies and connected with their husbands. I saw the couples say thank you to each other and say sorry to each other as well. I saw them smile at each other like they were just dating. I found I did not only teach but provided a time and space to appreciate each other and start their journey with their baby with good memories.
