It’s been a long lockdown. Juggling the pressures of home schooling and working, while trying to stay sane being cooped up has made the year so far a tougher task than the 1st lockdown during these winter months. Not many of us can say we are going to emerge the best version of ourselves, for most of us finding the energy to commit to a daily routine is hard enough without attempting home facial treatments. So as we prepare to emerge, if you are feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, here are The Well’s tips for bursting your lockdown beauty bubble.

The Deep Clean

Skin health is something that can’t be faked and makes all the difference when it comes to achieving glowing, plumped, smoothed skin. Most of us have mixed problems caused by the weather, lifestyles, and face masks. The Well’s Signature Hydrafacial treatment is a magic powerhouse delivering glowing skin in 6 easy steps using the non-invasive wand:

Step 1: Detox: the treatment starts off with relaxing lymphatic drainage. Improved circulation helps to move toxins out of the cells, and increases blood flow, invigorating the skin, restoring tone and firmness while excess fluid is cleared.

Step 2: Cleansing: A vacuum-based abrasion tip will gently smooth away dead skin cells while delivering serum directly to the fresh new skin beneath. This serum is brimming with ingredients to revitalise and support your skin, such as lactic acid, glucosamine, antioxidants, and botanical extracts, all of which are customised to treat your skin’s needs.

Step 3: Brightening & Exfoliating: Now that pore-blocking old skin cells have been swept away, a glycolic and salicylic solution is applied to gently break up congestion in the pores. This will brighten your skin and at the same time prep the pores for the next step.

Step 4: Extractions: Unlike many facials, the extraction process is very gentle. Salicylic acid and honey are used to draw out blackheads and other impurities. This is an important step to ensure your pores are clean and able to benefit from the tightening effects of the treatment. Any residual stubborn blocked pores will be attended to with our expert traditional manual extractions.

Step 5: Hydration: Now that your pores are clear and dead skin cells have been removed, your fresh new skin is ready to be treated. This step nourishes your skin and drenches it in moisture, with a mix of potent antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and peptides and multi-peptides to support collagen. This step will leave your skin soft and plump with moisture, combating the appearance of wrinkles.

Step 6: Rejuvenation: Finally, LED light is applied. This will soothe your skin, reducing redness, and stimulating the production of collagen. You will be left with skin that feels soft, smooth, and invigorated, and looks glowing and radiant.

If you have specific concerns, this treatment can be customised to target pigmentation, dehydration, or oily / acneic skin. Treatment

The Next Level

Once our skin is restored to shiny newness, we can turn our attentions to some other pesky irritations. The Well’s aesthetic doctors, Dr Jaminson and Dr Kasraie, are on hand to provide their expert knowledge for some natural tweakments. Consultations are free and they are always happy to meet you to discuss your concerns and provide treatment options based on your goals. From treating Zoom face, creating a natural lift, or masking months of burning the candle at both ends, their most requested treatments for busy parents include:

Anti-ageing Injections: Botox. Does it still conjure fear and an image of faces frozen in a surprised expression? It shouldn’t, we specialise in a natural look to smooth lines while retaining some movement.

Next Level Skin Treatments: From traditional mesotherapy using Filorga or Aquagold, to Profhilo or Teoxance Redensity 1 (hyaluronic acid-based ‘skin boosters’, which spurs collagen production while smoothing and plumping), there are a range of treatments that can be customised to strengthen skin from within. Dermal cells are nourished, restoring the skin’s firmness. Downtime and discomfort is minimal, the results naturally youthful and luminous. Great for the face, hands, neck, decollete, and knees!

Tired Eyes: Disguise tiredness and dark circles with our gentle tear trough fillers. Results are instant and hide a multitude of sins.

Lift & Plump: Strategically placed fillers are great for sculpting the face naturally, reshaping and rebalancing the lips, and smoothing out deeper lines.

The Cherry On Top

Once we have you feeling more yourself, confident to face the world, looking refreshed and glowing, you can turn your attentions to the finishing touches. What might these treatments be? It is different for each of us, but will most likely include:

Hands & Feet: There is nothing like a professional mani pedi. The Well’s nail technicians work to artfully repair those fingernails bitten and chewed during some intense maths lessons and homework battles. Feet are softened after months crammed in our trainers running after energetic toddlers, kicking a ball about with the older kids or bonding with the teens during home workouts. Nails are polished with your chosen colours ready for springtime sandals.

Hair Removal: Waxing, threading, laser hair removal, and electrolysis are all available at The Well to tackle unwanted hair painlessly. If you haven’t torn it out yourself already during a particularly challenging school task…

Brows & Lashes: The eyes are always on show and in the spotlight more since facemasks are part of our daily essential wear. Brow shaping, tinting, and lamination, lash tints, LVL, or extensions, your eyes can be enhanced to suit your style, leaving you with more time in the morning to make sure you’ll make it to the school gates in time.

Health Boosters Treat yourself to a massage, Acupuncture, and add IV Therapy to any of your other treatments, for the ultimate boost for your health & wellness. Our favourite combo is a facial with IV Therapy added on, to achieve that skin glow from within.
