Hello October! London continues to be and exciting and vibrant cosmopolitan place to raise our children. It has got so much to offer! Stay tuned for our half term guide  which will also include what’s on for you and your little ones during Halloween so that you can plan ahead and to try some new and exciting activities on your doorstep, or just maybe a bus or tube ride away. Commencing this October Rugbytots comes to South Kensington!  These high energy, fast paced classes take place at Baden Powell House on Sunday mornings and are great for parent & child to spend time together having fun, learning valuable skills.  Rugbytots is the largest rugby specific play programme for young children, aimed at both boys and girls. It is weekly play session for children age between 2 & 7 years and is ideal for burning off all that energy that youngsters have.  Ask about their birthday parties too! Kensington Mums events and meet ups

 

Kensington Mums and Bumps Coffee morning. You said, we listened. Due to many requests we are organising a coffee morning on Wednesday 16th October 2012 (10am-12pm), to meet and mingle with the local Kensington Mums and bumps. Mums and Mums to be are all welcome. The lovely Zehra has kindly volunteered to host the morning in her home. Please email us with heading ‘coffee morning’ to be sent more information.

 

We are proud to share with you that the photographs from ourKensington Mums Motherhood Exhibition in collaboration with Story of Mum, will be at the Photographer’s Gallery on 18th October for the Story of Mum: Mum’s make date. It is free to attend. Click here to book your space.

 

Friday 25th October 2013. Share your voices and stories on motherhood. Join us with the Royal Borough of Kensington  and Chelsea and take part in the Motherhood Exhibition. This session will take place at Clare Garden Children Centre from 10am-11am during their action, songs and rhyme sessions.  Please click here for more information and to register your interest.

 

Dress up and be glamorous. Save the date. Thursday 14th of November 2013. Kensington Mums celebrate its second birthday. Join us to celebrate over dinner and drinks at a surprise location. What’s on for you and your little ones

Free Family Workshop: Caped Creators with Jason Ford. Saturday 12 October 12.00-15.00. Children’s illustrator and author of The Super Book for Super-Heroes Jason Ford leads us on this heroic workshop – families can bring along old t-shirts and turn them into customised capes, or make their own super-hero masks. Beatrix Potter Family Festival. Saturday 12th October 2013. 10-4pm at St Mary Abbots Church. Come and learn more about the life of Beatrix Potter and plant some seeds in Mr. McGregors garden to take home.

 

 

Family events at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Sunday 13 October- This is My Room. Have you ever dreamed of your perfect room? Clarice Bean does every day because she shares her room with her younger brother, Minal Cricket. Explore all the fabulous fabrics, furniture, objects and textiles in the galleries and then design Clarice her perfect room. Click here for more information.

 

Introductory to French. FREE. 6 November 2013 – 4 December 2013. This course is designed for anyone who has little or no knowledge of the French language and would like to begin to converse in French. You will learn how to greet people and introduce yourself, how to order food and drinks and count from 1 to 30 as well as the days of the week and months of the year. Children aged 4 years are welcome to join this course. Learning a new language at any age offers vast opportunities and pleasure. This course will be taking place at Clare Gardens Children’s Centre 349 Westbourne Park Road, W11 1EG. To book your place please call 020 7727 2725, crèche is provided.

Baby and Kids French Tales at the Institut Français. Saturday 12 October. Watch out for the witch from the rue Mouffetard in Paris. Bats, bubbling cauldrons, black cats, old books and magic spells are all set for a time to remember! Grab your broomstick and practice your cackle for a fantastic adventure. Persian Art for Children at Kensington Central Library. 31 October 2013. The Persian word for tile, Kashi, comes from the name of the town Kashan in Iran. Join artist Amber Khokhar and be inspired by a centuries old artistic tradition. Using paints and paper tiles participants will create beautiful designs that can be taken home or used to shape a Kashan inspired tiled panel. This event is supported by Iran Heritage Foundation.
