London is ready for the festive season and so are we at Kensington Mums HQ. Winter Wonderland is now open and a big congratulations to our competition winner Anita who won family tickets to the magical ice kingdom and ice skating rink to enjoy at Winter Wonderland. Don’t forget to enter our last competition for 2013 and stay tuned for more competitions exclusive for Kensington Mums. In this week’s newsletter you will find where to take your little ones to visit Santa and his elves (early booking is advised), indoor play areas to enjoy with little ones when its too cold to play in the park as well as some unique exhibitions in the local Museums around South Kensington.

We had a magical experience at the opening of Winter Wonderland in Hyde park. Rides, games and circus fun. There is something to please the whole family. Just make sure you wrap up warm and enjoy the adventure.
Thanks to Fanny a Kensington Mum, she informed us through Facebook that Victoria Beckham and David Beckham were donating their designer clothes and shoes to the British Red Cross in Chelsea to raise money for the Philippines disaster appeal. Great initiative. Kensington Mums couldn’t help and had a peak into their collection.

Kensington Mums attended the Christmas Bazaar in aid of the AMAR International Charitable Foundation at the Jumeirah Carlton Hotel. Such a great cause and shopping under one roof. No complains there.

Kensington Mums events and meet ups

Our coffee mornings are getting more popular, so we have decided to make them monthly giving all Mums the opportunity to meet and mingle with the elite members of Kensington Mums. The next coffee morning is on Wednesday 4th of Dec 2013 (10am-12pm). Mums and Mums to be are all welcome to join. The lovely Ania has kindly volunteered to host the morning in her home. Please email us (email@example.com) with heading ‘Dec coffee morning’ to be sent more information and get in touch if you would like to host our next morning coffee in January. Please note the coffee mornings are limited numbers.

As the weather gets chilly, kids will love the Kids’ Zone at the National Army Museum. Kids Zone is great for children aged 0-8 with forest and arctic themed climbing frames for kids to scale, slide and run through. There is also a soft play area for babies, toys, and arts and crafts. It is open daily from 10.10am to 5.15pm. For only £2.50 per child this is a great way for little ones to let off some steam. Tickets for all day sessions tend to sell out before 11.00am during school holidays, so it is always best to book online to avoid disappointment. Adults go FREE.

Travelling to the Wonderland at the Victoria and Albert Museum until 2 March 2014. The John Madejski Garden is transformed into an ethereal utopia inspired by the classic Chinese fable Tao Hua Yuan. This is a great after school activities. The nomad cinema is bringing you the Muppet Christmas Carol at the Look Out in Hyde Park. Monday 9th of December 2013 starting at 4pm. There is also Elf on Tuesday 10th of December 2013.
Shop Local Saturday on 7th of December 2013 in Kensington. Shop Local is a UK wide campaign to encourage people to support their local independent shops on Sat 7th Dec. Traders groups, chambers of commerce and other groups all over the country are getting involved with events and promotions. Shop Local Saturday is part of a year-round campaign and Kensington Mums would like to encourage you, your family and friends to support their communities by buying from local businesses.
