I hope you all had a great week end with your little ones despite the rain we’ve had. Check out this week’s scoop, there are tons of things to do with little ones around London that the whole family will enjoy. Thank you for everyone who has signed up for the walk in Hyde Park on the 28th of September for the Walkabout Foundation. We are walking for people that cannot walk. The event will be a family fun day incorporating picnic, drinks, games and fun after the walk is done, so bring kids, friends, family and neighbours! This week’s sponsor is Beaufort House, Chelsea.

Join Beaufort House, Chelsea every Monday for Mummy Mondays a day of classes and a whole lot of fun for mummies and babies from 6 weeks to school ages kids. Starts Monday 16th September 2013. We had a great evening at Mayoral boutique with lots of food, fun fashion and browsed though their new autumn and winter collection. Mayoral is a Spanish children clothing brand with a great choice of affordable children’s wear with ranges from newborn to 14 year old. Do check them out!


 London is buzzing with the London Fashion Week. The best way to shop till you drop.

Friday 27th September 2013. Share your voices and Stories. Join us for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and take part in the Motherhood Exhibition. This session will take place at Cheyne Children Centre from 10am-11am with crèche available upon registration. Please click here for more information and to register your interest.


Saturday 28th September 2013. Kensington Mums is taking part in this great family event that not only gets you out and about and exercising all together, but also raises money for the Walkabout Foundation, which donates wheelchairs to those in need. We are walking for people that cannot walk and we ask you all to register to take part with your little ones and to please ask your friends and family to donate a wheelchair to someone in need using our Kensington Mums fundraising page. Kensington Mums is organising a Mummy and baby/toddler meet up at the Science museum on Wednesday 2nd of October 2013. We have been informed by the Museum, that due to ongoing renovation of the the garden, we are unable to visit it. But rest assured we will be still be exploring the Science Museum, with our little ones for a private performance   exclusive for Kensington Mums. If you would like to join us, please email us at with subject heading ‘the garden’ with the name and age of your little one. The session will be in the afternoon. Please note children must be under 6 years of age and must be accompanied at all times. Places are limited, so hurry and get in touch. You will be sent full details of times.

Dress up and be glamorous. Save the date. Thursday 14th of November 2013. Kensington Mums celebrate its second birthday. Join us to celebrate over dinner and drinks at a surprise location. Celebration of Science. From 20 to 28 September Kensington and Chelsea Council will be staging a Celebration of Science. Events will take place across the borough. The events are aimed at all age groups, and there is something for everyone, whether you have an interest in science or are just plain curious. Cake Decorating class at your local Children Centre. Tuesday 5th November 2013. FREE. From Cup Cakes to tiered cakes! this very popular  workshop will teach you how to decorate cakes using different skills such as modelling, piping, torting. You will use different materials such as flower paste, modelling paste, pastillage and Mexican paste techniques …. hopefully you will develop the skills and confidence so that in the future you are able to decorate your child’s birthday cakes! The London Transport Museum is always great for a family day out. To enter the Museum, you need to purchase a ticket  which gives you unlimited admission for 12 months from the date of purchase. Children under 16 are admitted free. Don’t forget to get the map at the door which the kids use to stamp as they go around and tour the Museum learning the different stages of transport in London. Their hands on gallery is great fun for little ones where they can climb aboard our fun versions of a bus, train, Tube and taxi. Worth paying them a visit during rainy days. The museum is very baby friendly and accessible with a buggy, changing facilities available on site.

Are you a new Mum? Baby Massage suitable for babies at least 6 weeks and up to 6 months old. This 3 week course is held at St Mary’s Hospital at the Parent Education Centre. To book a place on the next course please call 0207 886 1402. I have taken the course and highly recommend it! Katherine is so helpful and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.


The Family Victorian Experience Tour at the Royal Albert Hall. 21-22 September 2013. Go back in time with a unique look at the Royal Albert Hall through the eyes of the Victorians! Join two Victorian characters for a fascinating journey through this impressive building, using its rich history to explore the Victorian age, and discover what it would have been like to see a show here or work in the Hall when it first opened over 140 years go. These family sessions last around 70 minutes and are aimed at children aged 5 to 11. Carnival Mask Making workshop for children. Saturday 28 September, 1 to 4pm. There’s no need to book a place to this session – just come along to North Kensington Children’s Library.




Open House London. Celebrate London’s architecture. 21 – 22 September 2013. Open House London celebrates all that is best about the capital’s buildings, places and neighbourhoods. It gives a unique opportunity to get out and under the skin of London’s amazing architecture, with over 700 buildings of all kinds opening their doors to everyone – all for free.
