Here at Kensington Mums, we truly believe that you need to take care and nurture yourself in order to have the power and the alignment to take care of others. It all starts from within. With the new year, comes the new you! Kensington Mums was delighted to be invited for the Signature Facial at Liz Earle at the Duke of York Square. We had previously organised a pamper morning at Liz Earle which was very popular, you can see pictures here. We also interviewed Liz for our online motherhood exhibition, you can read all about it here.
It was a cold and rainy day in London, when I stepped into the tranquil and stress free zone at Liz Earle London boutique, located just off of Chelsea’s Kings Road. Having a busy schedule and now lots of travel plans, it was nice to have some time off, to take care of myself. As mothers, we need to feel less guilty all the time and remember to nurture ourselves as we are also a priority in our life.

I was welcomed by Faye who would be my beauty therapist. After filled up a short questionnaire, I was shown to the most tranquil, soothing therapy room where my Signature Facial would take place. The room was slightly lite, warm and there was a robe and slippers ready for my to slip into. The bed even had a electric blanket to keep me warm, I knew I was in for a treat. The therapist kindly explained to me the treatment protocol that will take place throughout the facial and that the Signature facial would last 1.5 hour. It was time to switch off and relax! I have been using the Cleanse and Polish for a few months already and could notice a bright appearance in my skin. She started off with the Eye Cleanse using the Eyebright lotion and then did a facial cleanse with the cleanse and polish. This iconic beauty must have has now won over 100 prestigious beauty awards. What I love most is the gentler cleansing power and the delicate smell of the eucalyptus essential oil, soothing chamomile and softening coca butter on my skin. The smell is divine! She then did a facial exfoliation using the Gentle Face Exfoliator. This was the first time I used the Liz Earle exfoliator, but again the smell was just the same as the Cleanse and Polish. My hair was covered using a hair band, and my face was put under some steam to help soften the pores and to allow for the extraction that was about to take place. Faye also adviced that it also allows for better product absorption following the steam. It was great to know what was going throughout my facial, it kept me relaxed and at ease.
Then came the high Frequency with the blue light that Faye worked over a gauze with the argon gas-filled electrode. Don’t worry, this doesn’t sound as painful. The aim of this is to tighten pores following extraction, it is anti-bacterial and germicidal method. It also promotes oxygen production on the skin and increases circulation of the blood and lymphatic system so skin is bright and glowing!
This was followed by a vacuum suction, a detox for the skin. A mechanical massage which drains lymph to the lymph nodes, to clear skin of toxins. Faye explained that this is great around the eyes for dark circles and puffiness. Something I definitely have as a Mum. It is also great for plumping of lines and deep cleansing the pores. My favourite part was the facial massage which included acupressure points to relax using the Superskin Concentrate and Borage Oil. Faye then applied the mask on my face using the Intensive Nourishing treatment Mask mixed with the Brightening Treatment. While the mask was working Faye massaged me around my neck and shoulders to alleviate tension. That was so relaxing and just what I needed the most. By the end of the treatment, my face was tingling with delight. Faye applied Superskin Serum, Superskin Moisturiser with Neroli and Superskin Eye and lip Cream followed by an inhalation of eucalyptus oil to clear my sinuses before I stepped out for a busy working day. Thank you Faye!
Overall, the Liz Earle Signature Facial was a great deep-cleansing treatment and ensured exceptional results for my skin type. The non-invasive techniques combined with the hands on methods using Liz Earle products gave me a luxurious hour and a half pamper time just for me. Highly recommend this to any Mum to help revitalise your mind, body and complexion. Thank you to the lovely team at Liz Earle for inviting me to have this facial, I will definitely be coming back again soon!
I ended up purchasing some of the products which I have been using daily/weekly and loving my skin!
– Gentle Face Exfoliator- Twice a week on dry skin and remove with a muslin cloth
– Eyebright- To remove make-up, can also be added to cotton-pads as a treat for the eyes, especially refreshing when kept in the fridge!
– Superskin Serum- Use under your moisturiser in the morning- apply by pressing into the skin for better absorption- great for helping dehydration, evening skin tone and plumping the skin (my favourite product)
– Superskin Concentrate- Massage into skin at night- alone or mixed with your moisturiser (this is the beautiful scented oil- it contains Neroli, Rosehip and Argan oils to plump, moisturise and repair the skin)
– Superbalm- This is a multi-purpose product and can be used on any area of dry skin- lips, elbows, feet, cuticles, ends of hair.. also makes a great face mask when your skin is in need of some TLC!
