Petra’s Place fundraising to help more children access art therapy
Petra’s Place nursery and therapy centre for autistic children has teamed up with contemporary artist, Lefty Out There, to raise awareness of the benefits of art therapy as a form of expression and creativity.
During a recent art workshop with the artist, the children created a unique masterpiece, full of colour and vibrancy. They got creative with paints and of course their hands too! The print is being used on a variety of fundraising merchandise for therapy bursaries for autistic and special needs children.
May half-term family activities at London Transport Museum 28 May to 5 June 2022
Families can “Get ‘wheely’ creative!” when they visit London Transport Museum in Covent Garden this May half term for nine days of imagination, fun and curiosity, choosing from activities including a creative workshop and storytelling. Visitors can:
- Follow and record clues around the Museum as part of a ‘My Visit to London Transport Museum’ activity.
- Get ‘wheely’ creative in an artist-led tyre-printing and spirograph workshop
- Enjoy story-telling sessions about ‘The Curious Adventure of the Underground Mouse’

Barcarolle Choir: two very special events for two very special occasions!
Barcarolle Choir is a friendly well established International Female Choir based in Kensington which performs various concerts and special events during the year. Been composed by two groups (the Belters: Pop/Jazz and the Divas: Classical/Contemporary) the choir proposes performances which feature a wide range of musical genres.
For this Spring term Barcarolle Choir will propose two special concerts:
** Singing and Afternoon Tea at Trumpeter’s House in Richmond (TW9 1PD).
May 15, 2022 from 3pm to 5pm.
The choir will perform musical pieces covering a large range of musical pieces from various historical periods. The performance will be followed by a Tea served on the great lawn of Trumpeters House which was built on the former site of Richmond Palace. People will be more than welcome to join the choir in some free dancing.
This is a unique opportunity to visit and enjoy this beautiful venue.
This fundraising event is organised by Trumpeter’s House in aid of the Princess Alice Hospice to support its ongoing work focusing on the care for patients and families through illness and bereavement.

** Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Barcarolle Choir

Design Camps at the Design Museum
This half-term, inspire your future designers with our upcoming workshops for young people.
On 31st May, the hands-on workshop “Design a Sustainable Shoebox City” invites young people to become Climate champions and come up with ideas for a climate-friendly city through playful activities.
On 1st June, the creative workshop “Produce your own ASMR soundscape” will introduce young people to play with instruments, found objects and electronics to record, edit and mix their own soundscape (no musical knowledge required).

Tarka runs developmental exercise classes for children aged 18 months to 7 years. We have created immersive, theme led games and challenges that focus on physical, emotional and social development.
We are running May half-term holiday classes in Notting Hill, Fulham and Knightsbridge as well as our new venue in Battersea. We run a Recruits class for 18 months – 3 years and a drop-off holiday class for 3 – 7 year-olds. Adopted by an elderly brother and sister, Anne gets herself into endless scrapes but eventually wins over the community with her endearing, fearless character and passionate nature.
