Mama Tribe – Chloe Waller helps helps families with their little one’s sleep challenges

sleep challenges

1. Please introduce yourself: Name, what you do & how many children you have.

I’m Chloe, I’m an infant sleep coach helping families with their little one’s sleep challenges. I have one whirlwind two-year old son, Teddy!

2. How do you manage to juggle work and life balance as a mother?

Ooh that’s a tough one, the juggle struggle is real! Since I’ve launched my own business it’s been easier, I can be flexible with my hours and manage my time more effectively to fit in with the family. I also find dividing and conquering with my partner super helpful. Each
Sunday we chat about the week ahead, what work commitments we each have, where we
can each have 1:1 time with our son and where we can squeeze in alone time just for us. It
helps us to have a mini plan in place, even though it inevitably changes throughout the
week!

3. What top tips would you give to any working mum?

Lean on the people in your life, whether that’s your partner, your family or your friends. Don’t feel like you have to suffer in silence if you’re having a tough week. Reach out to friends and have a good moan or a laugh at how bonkers being a parent is sometimes, it will help!

4. What do you love most about London? Do you have a favourite spot with your children?

I love London’s energy and the fact there’s something new always popping up. You’re never
short of fun things to do with the kids in London.

My favourite spot with Teddy was Wandsworth Common, there’s a fab cafe on the common
called Skylark, we went there every Friday for breakfast together, when we lived nearby, and it holds many happy memories for me.

5. How do you define quality ‘me-time’?

Time alone is really important to me. I’m an introverted extrovert, I love being around people and chatting constantly but when it’s time to recharge I need to be alone. A bath with loads of bubbles, a face mask and a trashy show is my favourite type of ‘me-time’.

6. What’s your favourite and least favourite thing about parenthood?

Favourite thing is all the little moments; the unexpected cuddles, the hilarious things they
come out with, the joy you see in their faces at such simple things. My least favourite is
something a friend of mine calls ‘the bits in between’; the laundry, the food prep, getting the bags sorted, all those annoying little jobs!

7. Tell us something people don’t know about you?

Before becoming a sleep coach I worked as a stylist and in the fashion industry for 15 years!

8. Given we are all embracing Motherhood, what advice would you give a first time Mum?

  1. The housework doesn’t matter! Seriously, just leave it, no one cares if your house is
clean and no one is judging you.
  2. Listen to your body, rest as much as you can. I always tell my clients, even if you
can’t nap during the day, just take time for you; sit down with a cup of tea, have a
shower, put a sheet mask on or zone out to Netflix. Anything to be kind to yourself
    and give yourself a break.
