Q1. Please introduce yourself: Name, what do you do & how many children you have.
I am Krishna, 37, and I live in London. I have been working in Banking for 19 years and have a 2 and 6-year-old boys.
Q2. How do you manage to juggle work and life balance as a mother?
I have always worked full time when returning back to work with both my boys.
The key is being organised and being realistic in what you can achieve in your day.
When I travel into the office which is normally two days out of the week, I make sure I prepare everything the night before.
School uniforms and my work clothes ironed, book bags and work bags all ready at the door.
We definitely took a slower pace in lockdown and although it was welcomed I did miss the organisation that came with the frantic rush
I am lucky that my husband is very supportive. We are a tight team so it works well most of the time in our household.
I do get mum guilt from time to time, as I also used to travel abroad. But I knew I was essentially doing this for them.
My WHY, was and still is my children and husband.
Q3. What top tips would you give to any working mum?
I swear by writing things down, I feel if it’s on paper or on my phone it’s mentally lifted the stress.
I do a to-do list. And on there I will highlight 2-3 things that are my non-negotiable. That way the pressure is off if I can’t get everything done.
Also, speak to your partner/ husband.
It’s a team effort by all in our house, which really does makes things a bit easier.
Q4. What do you love most about London? Do you have a favourite spot with your children?
I love London, as I grew up there, I also work there. The different cultures around the city make it an amazing opportunity to learn especially for children.
Regent’s Park is a favourite of ours,
Q5. How do you define quality ‘me-time’?
Just time to switch off from being “mum” or “wife”
It could be as simple as enjoying a coffee in the garden on my own. As long as I have time to reflect and recharge to allow me to show up as a better version of myself. That is time well spent.
Q6. What is your favourite & least favourite thing about parenthood?
The endless cuddles and kisses.
Broken sleep.
Q7. Tell us something people don’t know about you.
I qualified as a travel agent in the first lockdown, as travelling abroad as a family got more expensive. Alongside my banking career, I also help coach and mentor other mums who want to make savings from travel.
Q8. Given we are all about embracing Motherhood, what advice would you give a first time Mum?
Go with your gut feeling, everyone will have their own advice and experiences. Live through your own. It creates less pressure on yourself. Do not compare.
Q9. I am a Mum and…
I am a mum and I feel so blessed to have two little people who are my WHY for every decision I take in life.
10. Finally, please let us know what you love most about Kensington Mums?
It’s a safe environment, with no judgment.
