Kensington Mums reviews Legoland Theme Park Windsor

We were tremendously lucky with the weather as it was a sunny day, breezy at times and not too hot. Simply the best weather to have as you will be walking and most likely carrying things as we did with my little one. So weather plays a huge role in the whole experience.

We loved how we were informed and notified via email before our visit about Covid measurements and how to enter Legoland. It is always great to have these notifications and suggestions before any visit especially when it is a park where you will spend the whole day at. We received the tickets via email so it was a very smooth and convenient entrance to the park.

After following the staff’s recommendation to download the LEGOLAND App, we were ready for our fun adventure, organising our tour so as not to miss the shows and enjoy the many rides. We can’t recommend enough that you download their App as it is very useful not only with the times of the shows playing all around the park but you can also check in a map the distance from where you are and where you need to go if you want to attend any specific show. It will also tell you the queuing times of most of the rides and attractions.

We will also highly recommend getting the Reserve and Ride that can save you so much time especially if you are going during the weekend when it might be very crowded. Not to mention if you are with a super impatient little boy like mine – this will save you from the constant question “its taking too long”. Frankly it is a lifesaver as having to wait c. 60 min for a 40 second ride is not a fun thing to do.

All rides were fun from Pirate Falls, getting a bit wet, the Viking River Splash, on a winding course, to the Spinning Spider, which made us a bit dizzy, it was pure delight for the whole family. My 3 year old son was having the best time ever, he especially loved LEGO NINJAGO – Master of the 4th Dimension. He marvelled at each and every piece made with LEGO blocks, as we adults did too! Not to mention how much fun he had when he was able to ride his own car at the L-Drivers – we did this like 3 times as he is crazy about cars. If you go on the Pirate Falls, on this ride be prepared to get properly wet, but don’t worry as they have huge dryers on site that will help you dry-out completely. Also at the Hydra’s Challenge an interactive water ride.

We also recommend to the ones that like spinning and drop tower rides the newest addition Fire & Ice Freefall is a must. Another one we enjoyed very much was the Lego City Deep Sea Adventure, a submarine ride. It was simply amazing and really felt as if we were going deep down the ocean and seeing sea life at its best. Another favorite of my son, which we went on 3 times, was the Fire Academy – we totally recommend to enjoy this one as a family or even better compete among your party – super fun and tiring as well!

As for the shows, they were great. The story of the Shoemaker kept my son glued to the stage smiling and singing along, he liked the puppets so much. He did not fancy going on the MYTHICA, World of Mythical Creatures ride, which is the first Flying Ride in the UK, but from the queues waiting to see it, I imagine it must be something not to miss! We enjoyed Girls on a Mission and the Return to Skeleton Bay shows – this was simply FAB! To see the pirates is an amazing show not to be missed!

We closed our day admiring Miniland, a miniature reproduction of cities and the most iconic sightseeing of the world, so well done that you could really get carried away and spend hours as the details on each city are stunning!!!

From the entrance to our departure from the Park, we had a great experience, every single member of the staff was nice, friendly and forthcoming to answer our questions or indicate where we had to go.

Kensington Mums recommends:

  • Bring a pushchair for all toddlers – not only this can save you time and you can push your little ones but it will also serve as a trolley where you can bring your things such as bottles of water, snacks, sunscreen, etc.
  • Bring a bottle of water as you can fill and refill them with water for free
  • Sanitiser and plenty of tissue papers are always good to have and keep handy
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Change of clothes for your little ones so as to be prepared in the event an accident happens
  • Swimming costume as the little ones can cool off on a sunny day at Splash Safari (weather permitting)
  • Towels
  • Sunscreen

If you prepare well for your visit you can complete the park in one day. However, we also recommend staying and visiting the park without any rush in 2 days or more.

Legoland is a real must and we highly recommend everybody to visit this fun park, there is something to enjoy for all ages. A guaranteed fun cool day out with the whole family. The perfect day out to create memories that will last a lifetime!
