Half term is nearly upon us. In this week’s special half term scoop we have picked up the latest and craziest things to see and do for you and your little ones. We have also been working super hard in bringing you new and fun mumthly events and meet ups including a Pamper evening (because we all deserve some well deserved me-time) as well as coffee mornings just to name a few. Little House of Science – Classes and Workshops around South West London. At Little House of Science we believe science is everywhere and science is for everyone. Wallace Chess has been teaching chess to adults and children in London for 8 years. Mexico’s Day of the Dead Festival. FREE from 30 October – 2 November 2014. 11.00am – 6.00pm at Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, South Bank, London. A variety of children’s workshops are taking place where children can decorate sugar skulls (traditional gifts taken to deceased loved ones graves), make a skeleton, paint masks, create flowers and papel picado (Mexican folk art). The workshops are free of charge, all you need to do is register your attendance. This is a great family day out.

Go Batty for Bats at the Isis Education Centre at The LookOut in Hyde Park. FREE. 29th October 11-5pm. FREE. Go Batty for Bats will focus on the lifestyles of some mysterious creatures and explore the real truth about bats; where they live, how they hunt and what they like to eat. Visitors will get the chance to follow the bat trail in the garden and learn all about these important nocturnal creatures, as well as taking part in some bat themed crafts. You can also get into the Halloween spirit and take part in a host of spectacularly spooky activities from ‘Pin the wart on the witch’ to potion making from herbs, sticks and mud.
