Hand Picked Hotels was founded in 2001 by owner, Chairman and CEO, Julia Hands MBE. Julia’s love of historical buildings, the English countryside, local food, and good wine inspired her dream to own a collection of hotels that would celebrate these passions, and invite others to share in them. It was important to Julia from the outset that guests could feel at home at Hand Picked, whether it was for a romantic escape, a corporate retreat, a magical wedding celebration or a chance to simply enjoy some rest and relaxation.

Enjoy quality family time during the school holidays at one of Hand Picked Hotels’ stunning country retreats. Steeped in tradition and history, Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire is a beautiful country house hotel surrounded by formal gardens and parkland landscaped by Capability Brown in the 1760s. It was a home built for entertaining: Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and other monarchs all enjoyed its fine hospitality, and that tradition continues to this day. You feel this the moment you enter the Hotel.
Needless to say the hotel has been awarded 4 AA red stars and 2 Rosettes for its Cedar Restaurant, which offers a host of treats, not least of which is afternoon tea, a much loved tradition within our walls. Silverstone is only 25 minutes from Fawsley Hall and offers so many family events and activities to create the most memorable family staycation.
Kensington Mums got to review Fawsley Hotel and Spa with 2 adults and 2 children. Its hidden gem within Northamptonshire’s rolling countryside, makes it a great escape from London and Kensington. Those with dogs don’t need to leave this beloved member of the family at home, as each of Hand Picked Hotels’ country retreats is dog friendly. After a day of adventure as a family, dogs are welcome to relax with their families in the hotels’ lounges, bars and restaurants, just as they would at home.

Family staycation like no other- what to expect
Stepping into our family room feels like entering a world of pure elegance and comfort. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a sense of grandeur that left us in awe.
As we look out of the window, the panoramic views of Fawsley Park and the sprawling countryside stretch out before us, creating a mesmerizing tableau of natural beauty. The rolling hills, lush green fields, and the tranquil serenity of the landscape are truly captivating.
Our stay here promises to be a harmonious blend of luxury and nature, offering an unforgettable experience that will linger in our memories for years to come.
Award Winning Dining
The Hotel offers a variety of dining rooms and dining experiences at Fawsley Hotel and Spa. Breakfast was included in our stay. We loved the Hand Picked English breakfast and oak and beech-smoked Scottish salmon and scrambled eggs.
Families can enjoy a mixture of the traditional and contemporary, with classic afternoon tea in the Tudor Great Hall or modern British dining in the award-winning Cedar Restaurant. Meanwhile, the Tudor Bar offers a cosy retreat within which to eat a light lunch or indulge in a pre-dinner cocktail.
As for dinner, this was at the Hotel’s 2AA Rosette restaurant which offers an intimate and relaxing setting to enjoy a menu of classic British dishes enhanced with a contemporary twist. The hotel also offers a children’s menu.
In case you want to spend the day, the hotel offers a Sunday lunch in the grand surroundings of a magnificent country house.

For rest and relaxation, which every parent needs, head to Fawsley Hall award-winning The Spa. It is one of the Midlands’ best destination spas, home to state-of-the-art wellness and health club facilities. Sometimes, to be a good parent, you need to invest in you, without any guilt. The Spa offers
