We were delighted to be invited to Enrica Rocca Cooking School, where we spent a relaxed Sunday afternoon creating an Italian feast. What better way to start the day than with good company, delicious food, and a stunning venue tucked away in a hidden garden in the heart of Kensington?
About Enrica Rocca
Enrica Rocca is a family-run cooking school and event space based in Notting Hill and Venice. The Rocca family opened the London school in 2002 in what was once their family home, bringing their love for Italian hospitality and food to the city. Today, the two sisters Charlotte and Claire run the London school, sharing their passion for Italian home cooking, while their mother, Enrica, leads the Venice location.
The school is a warm and inviting space, perfect for reconnecting with people, channelling creativity, and, of course, indulging in authentic Italian cuisine.
Cooking Classes for All – Including Children!
The kitchen is the heart of the home, and this cooking school embodies that philosophy. Enrica Rocca offers a variety of open cooking classes, with their most popular being the Portobello Market Tour Class, where participants shop for fresh ingredients before returning to the kitchen to create a delicious feast.
For those looking for private experiences, the school also hosts bespoke cooking classes for groups of 10 to 20 people, ideal for special celebrations, a get-together with friends, or corporate team-building events.
Excitingly, they have recently introduced children’s cooking classes, allowing little ones to explore the joy of cooking, develop new skills, and create tasty Italian dishes. This is a wonderful hands-on activity for budding young chefs!
“IMMERSE YOURSELF IN A GOURMET EXPERIENCE”
What to Expect from their Classes
During our session, we immersed ourselves in the art of Italian cooking, using fresh, seasonal ingredients to prepare a feast. Around the welcoming kitchen island, we crafted a variety of antipasti, fresh handmade pasta, and a seasonal dessert before sitting down together to enjoy the fruits of our labour.
Our Menu:
- Delica Pumpkin Ravioli with Crispy Sage & Brown Butter Sauce
- Veal Involtini with Taleggio Cheese, Copa Ham, and Sage, in a White Wine and Cream Sauce
- Radicchio, Pear, Parmigiano & Candied Pecan Nut Salad
- Homemade Apricot Jam Crostata
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience enjoyable from start to finish. They also accommodate dietary requirements and offer vegetarian alternatives.
A Community Experience
The 3.5-hour session was about so much more than food—it was an opportunity to connect with others, discover Italian flavours, and enjoy a hands-on cooking experience. Whether you are looking for a fun activity with fellow mums, a family-friendly experience, or a chance to meet with like-minded food lovers, this class is a fantastic choice. It truly felt like a home away from home.
If you’re thinking of trying a cooking class, we highly recommend Enrica Rocca Cooking School!
