Kensington Mums reviews*
The Bugis Singapore Restaurant and Bailey’s Bar in South Kensington
The Bugis celebrates authentic Singaporean, Malaysian and Chinese cuisines made from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. It takes its name ‘The Bugis’ from the bustling area in Singapore renowned for its flair of street food and flavours. We had also previously visited the restaurant in High Street part of the Millennium Hotel. You can watch our video reel as a review and we couldn’t wait to come again for the best Singaporean restaurant in Kensington. The Bugis Singapore Restaurant has received numerous accolades and awards as one of London’s best Asian restaurants.
The Bugis Singapore Restaurant features a brand-new culinary approach with small and sharing plates. The cuisine deeply rooted in the Malay peninsula, Singapore street food and hawkers’ heritage.
Best Singaporean restaurant in Kensington!
About Bugis
The Bugis originally opened in 1995 on the corner street, when it received numerous accolades and awards as one of London’s best Asian restaurants. Since then, it has relocated inside The Bailey’s Hotel, and has undergone a full renovation featuring a sumptuous yet modern interior and an upscale Bailey’s Bar with an enticing cocktail menu inspired by Lord Bailey’s journey in the Far East. The place is to become one of the most exciting drinking and social experiences in Kensington.

What to expect
Sit back and experience delicious authentic Singaporean, Malaysian and Chinese food with a modern twist in the heart of London. Considered to be one of London’s best Asian restaurants, Bugis Street encompasses a relaxed ambiance with fabulous international cuisine. The staff are very friendly and can explain what’s on the menu. We had a selection of starters and sharing main courses. For starters we highly recommend the sesame prawn on toast and aromatic crispy duck. They also offer a sharing platter which combines the spring rolls, spare ribs, sesame prawn on toast and chicken satay. This is a great for a family to share. As for mains, we had some of the Bugis signature dishes such as the Singapore Laksa, its seriously the best in town! Nasi Goreng also a speciality from the region. For a lighter lunch or dinner, I would opt for the steamed filet sea bass which was deliciously light with ginger and spring onion. You can view the menu here.Â

In case you still have space for more, do try their desert options too of banana fritters and ice cream. The kids loved it!
