Free February Half-Term Fun at the National Army Museum

Calling all families to the National Army Museum! There’s a varied half-term programme with something for everyone.

  • Put your map-making skills to the test. Design and make your own map complete with hazards and landmarks, ready for a top-secret mission! Our Map a Mission workshops are free and available 16 – 18 February.
  • Discover the tales of Anansi, the part-spider part-man African folk hero with storyteller Wendy Shearer. 16 February, free.
  • Meet Tommy Roper, a soldier from 2 Commando. Watch him putting new recruits through their paces, as they train for a top-secret Second World War mission. 20 Feb, free. Part of the Museum’s Soldier Stories programme every Sunday.

 Activities for the little ones

The popular Tiny Troopers sessions are back at the National Army Museum. These monthly sensory sessions are perfect for children aged 3-5. Sing, play and create with these workshops covering different themes. For February explore all the different ways animals have helped the Army. 16 February, tickets are £5 per child.

The National Army Museum: full of family fun

The Museum is great for families all year round. With four floors of interactive fun, it tells the story of Our Army and its impact on society, past and present, in a family-friendly environment. March in time, beat out a rhythm and get hands on with activities and interactives dotted throughout the Museum.

Play Base is an immersive experience for children aged 8 or under, offering a variety of fun and engaging activities. Kids can take on the soft play assault course, climb aboard a truck or prepare scoff in the cookhouse.

Located on Royal Hospital Road in Chelsea, it’s easy to get there. Just 10 minutes from Sloane Square, 20 minutes walk from Victoria or the 170 bus stops right outside.

Open Wednesdays to Sundays. General admission is free. Play Base is £5.75 per child, an online booking fee applies.
