Real-world maths

School’s out, but it doesn’t mean maths learning is on hold…
Maths is part of everyday life, from measuring cooking ingredients, converting currencies on holiday (if you’re lucky enough to get away this half-term), and working out how much pocket money you owe Dad for downloading Minecraft on his account!
For parents – even a simple meal out at a local restaurant means tipping the waiters – can your children work out 10%, 12.5%, 15%?
Cuemath’s mission is to put the magic back into everyday Maths. Cuemath’s one-on-one online learning platform teaches maths visually, focusing on real-world examples rather than more abstract theories common in conventional teaching. Who said maths isn’t fun?!

A.A. Murakami’s multisensory experience, Silent Fall, at Superblue London

Engaging sight, smell, sound and touch, Silent Fallis is a dynamic multi-sensory experience marking the London launch of Superblue, the ground-breaking new venture dedicated to producing, presenting and engaging audiences with experiential art.
Specifically created for Burlington Gardens by the Tokyo/London-based artist duo A.A. Murakami, the artists behind Studio Swine, Silent Fall builds on A.A. Murakami’s practice of creating immersive experiences that dissolve the borders between technology and nature. Visitors walk among the trees, each of which produces hundreds of misty bubbles.
As each bubble is caught by hand and bursts, it unlocks scents from nature’s vast array of aromas, such as moss, rain and pine, thereby recalling the sensation of walking through a forest.
