harmonious home

Amalia Boier gives us tips on ‘how to create a harmonious home’

  1. Create an individual story

Everyone has the potential to reflect their lifestyle and aspirations through the design of their own home. At Amalia Boier Interiors, when defining each project brief, it is always important for clients to add their own personal touch to the interiors. Like this, the studio can make sure to create something truly special and entirely personalised. Amalia always tells her clients – this is your home, where you spend most of your time in, so the space really needs to reflect you, and your individual story.

  1. Develop the best optimum layout

The studio starts by truly listening and knowing their clients. It is important to recognise the importance of their space and to tactically assess its purpose and functionality.

Amalia’s tip for when defining the floor plan and layout, is to make sure you utilise the space effectively, zoning the space and allowing enough room to move around. Your furniture shouldn’t be in the way and keen attention to size and proportions is a must.

  1. Invest in good quality furniture pieces

The studio explains, that having the right furniture design will provide a great visual impact to your home and offer flexibility of design; in particular, if there are any odd scenarios where spaces are not entirely in alignment with the architecture.

Amalia tells us; Investing in good quality furniture will enhance your home and will increase desirability and add value to your property.

Their team works closely with trusted suppliers and artisans to provide a full and tailored package, creating one-of-a-kind pieces which make a room completely individual, from bespoke cabinetry and furniture to embellished headboards and cushions. From concept through to completion, Amalia and her team are here to help their clients navigate through the process and manage every aspect of it.

  1. Add Character and Refinement

One of the examples showcased here, is their Nicoll Residence project where the clients wanted to infuse their home with a signature of their own and commissioned Amalia Boier Interiors to design a completely bespoke principal bedroom and dressing room, which resulted in a timeless and elegant look. The blank canvas allowed the studio’s ethos loose, transforming the rooms into something exquisite.

Amalia’s tip – For anyone with a generous budget, a full height bespoke headboard provides a statement wall behind the master bed, complementing the loose furniture selection. Our studio can develop bespoke designs to suit your scheme perfectly; we can also commission handmade wallpaper or murals to add layers to your home. Crisp, tailored pieces and attentive accents bring freshness to the rooms and finish the look.

  1. Be consistent with styles

The studio advises their clients that a similar narrative and style needs to run throughout the space, so the interiors feel unified. This can be achieved through the colours, or selection of finishes, mixtures of patterns and textures that work together in harmony. Another example is their Clarges Street Project where the studio sourced and supplied all furniture, artworks and accessories and kept similar finishes, colours, and textures throughout, which resulted in a natural flow.

Amalia tells us; We played with scale and slight contrast to add dimension and depth, and to create an overall consistent result; making sure we’ve obtained the best value for our client whilst preserving their desired look and cost investment.
