A New Season of Delectable treats
With so many long weekends coming up, an option might be to take a staycation at Oakley Court. Oakley Court is a glorious Victorian mansion house set in 35 acres of English countryside on the banks of the River Thames, and all just under an hour from London. The hotel boasts an array of beautiful food including Akira at Oakly Court, a 10 seat omakase restaurant, a fusion of Japanese cuisine with local British ingredients; River House, a stunning restaurant on the River Thames, in collaboration with Soho House; and a fabulous Afternoon Tea.
A little closer to home is Galvin at Windows, one of London’s best restaurants with a view. From the 1st May to the 6th May, they will be holding the Coronation Tasting Menu (for a full list of Coronation activities, visit here). The menu was created by Head Chef Marc Hardiman, who like His Majesty King Charles III, is passionate about using the best of seasonal and sustainable British produce. Each course of the Coronation tasting menu includes a nod to the King starting with Herbs and Flowers, an ode to Highgrove. This is £110 per person or £55 per child.
Or for a huge variety of delicious food head to Syon Park to the Foodies Festival on the 27th May – 29th May where there will be live music, pop-up bars and restaurants, street food and an artisan market.

Meanwhile, at the Docklands’ Museum of London, explore the museum’s physical collections by taking part in a brand new trail for families based on the BAFTA-winning BBC TV series, Dodger. From 21st April-4th June, go on a journey around the museum’s galleries and help Dodger, Fagin and the gang stay one step ahead of the police in this immersive self-paced experience, set against a converted 19th-century sugar warehouse.

Spring has Sprung
As we see London’s beautiful parks & gardens coming back to life, May is the perfect time to revel in floral tributes to our great city.
Most notably, of course, is the Chelsea Flower Show, one of the Borough’s key calendar dates, which takes place from 23rd-27th May. It’s the place to see cutting-edge garden design, new plants and find ideas to take home. As always, Chelsea in Bloom takes place in tandem with this auspicious occasion, delighting us with floral arrangements on the streets of the Royal Borough from 22nd-28th May.
Chelsea Physic Garden will be putting on a host of fantastic events including on the 28th May, the Bee Kindness Family Workshop, where children and their families will learn about the history of beekeeping through cultures; and on the 30th May they will host Kids Lab: Hairy Flowers and Fuzzy Plants, at which children will take a tour of the garden, learning about the range of textures in the flowerbeds.
