Is it Better to Have a Pig’s Heart that Works… Than a Human Heart that Doesn’t?
Pig Heart Boy, Unicorn Theatre, London | 26th Jan – 22nd Feb 2025 Suitable for ages: 9-13 years
A powerful new stage adaptation of multi-award-winning writer Malorie Blackman’s beloved novel Pig Heart Boy will bring to life the heart-wrenching story of Cameron, a 13-year-old boy facing a life-or-death decision. Cameron has always dreamed of living a normal life, but his world is turned upside down when he is diagnosed with a serious heart condition and faces an urgent need for a heart transplant. Adapted by the acclaimed playwright Winsome Pinnock and directed by Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu, this moving production explores themes of survival, identity, offering a raw and poignant portrayal of the hope, light, and darkness that childhood illness brings to families.
Pig Heart Boy will go on a nationwide tour following its run at the Unicorn until June 2025.
