1. Please introduce yourself: Name, what do you do & how many children you have.

Lucy Moore, I’m a model and have been modelling now for 10 years. I have one baby boy, 6 months almost – namer Rupert. And I’m besotted!

2. How do you manage to juggle work and life balance as a mother?

It’s more of just having to get on with it – I enjoy both work and being a mum and I know once I’ve gone to work I feel as though I can be a better Mum to Rupert as I feel full of pride and as though I have achieved a great thing. It’s definitely so difficult and emotional leaving Rupert- there is no right or wrong way of balancing it both – it somehow just works. Thankfully, I’ve been able to take jobs here and there that suit me , but then sometimes a shoot may be very last minute and so it can be stressful trying to arrange childcare or arranging my partner to change his work shifts to suit so that I can work etc.

3. What top tips would you give to any working mum?

To have in your head how great you will feel once you are occupied and busy at work. It’s always great to do your own thing, chat to adults in an adult environment, as well as earning your own money for sense of pride too. There’s nothing more fulfilling than knowing you’ve worked hard to give your child something or to book that lovely holiday for the family. You sacrifice being with your baby all day but tell yourself that the moment you leave the house they are absolutely fine and it’s even more exciting coming home to seeing their little faces.

4. What do you love most about London? Do you have a favourite spot with your children?

I love all of the different food spots in London and just the excitement of the busy city. However- this year has not been the same at all so Rupert hasn’t seen a lot of London as well I’d have liked, but I cannot wait to take him to all the galleries and museums in the future.

5. How do you define quality ‘me-time’?

Doing something for you! I like to make sure I do a workout every day (especially weekdays ) as I just get the chance to zone out and not think about anyone else’s needs (Ahem ! – My partner as well as the baby). It sets me up for the day to be in a happy positive mood.

I also am a big skincare addict- so I make sure that once Rupert is in bed I spend some time chilling with a face mask, my jade roller and giving myself facials to relax. As well as that , I’d say I reward my lack of sleep by buying myself things online on the night feeds! Sometimes I’m a little delirious and forget what I buy when the delivery guy knocks my door but it’s fun and it’s nice to have presents for yourself hey! We all deserve it.

6. What is your favourite & least favourite thing about parenthood?

My favourite is the love and the feeling of never feeling lonely when you have your baby. Rupert is honestly the best company and he makes even the fullest of days so amazing. My least favourite would be the lack of sleep. I could sleep for England prior to having Rupert, but now I’m so alert and ready to wake when he needs me, so much so, that I wake to him even sneezing or farting in bed.

Sleep deprivation can be torture, so I’m learning to some evenings just take myself to bed at 7 when Rupert goes off.

7. Tell us something people don’t know about you.

I used to run an online boutique when I was at Uni & when Instagram first came around. It got very competitive and modelling got busy in my last year at Uni – and so my focus wasn’t quite there so I slowly fizzled it out.

It was myself and my partner who ran the business, and our little south london flat was full of stock so we went all Del Boy and bought a garage to keep stock in. We had TOWIE members and MADE IN CHELSEA members wear our brand. I did really enjoy it , and now this year has been a bit quiet with Covid etc it’s definitely something I’m thinking about getting back into. I love fashion.

8. Given we are all about embracing Motherhood, what advice would you give a first time Mum?

Take each day as it comes- and don’t expect too much from each day. And be kind to yourself ! You are doing amazing- your little one is totally in love with you and is happy with all you do for them -believe me. It’s us women that worry we aren’t doing the right thing and mum guilt is so real but no one is perfect and I can assure you that you’re an amazing Mummy because you put your little one first before anything.

9.  I’m a mum and……

A million other things I want to be.

10. Finally, please let us know what you love most about Kensington Mums?

All that you do to just give us Mums that little bit of help and support! And the amazing discounts in a range of necessary areas. Hair – a necessity me time to feel good. And also the children’s discount because let’s face it that’s so helpful when they grow out of everything so fast , a discount is so handy.
