The wonderful world of Twirlywoos co-created by Anne Wood with lead creative and writer, Steve Roberts and producer, Chris Wood and first broadcast on CBeebies in 2015 is currently playing on stage at the Underbelly Festival Southbank.
Toodloo, Great BigHoo, Chickedy, Chick and Peekaboo are beautifully capturing the attention by singing, dancing and making laugh little and big ones as they sail on their Big Red Boat. It is amazing how fantastic MEI Theatrical master the puppets come to life and seem so real during the whole show.
Twirlywoos has been one of the shows my son loves the most as it is funny and also educates at the same time. There is always something to be learned in all of their shows. For those of you who have no clue of who they are, they are 4 funny looking birds that are on the constant search of learning something new and discovering the world through their own adventures. In their big red boat, or in the everyday life they hide, surprise and imitate who they encounter.
The show is a must see! My son (18 months old) was the whole 55 minutes watching non-stop and surely wanting to be part of the show! We sat very close to the stage on a super comfortable mattress they have for the little ones that one to be as close as we did. The performance venue is simply perfect offering a combination to those like us wanting to sit close to the stage or the ones that prefer to have a seat just like in the theatre.
Twirlywoos Live! is recommended for ages 1+, with babes in arms welcome. The running time is 55 minutes with no interval.
