We all love a family day out, especially with half term around the corner. We share with you Margaux’s review of day at Crockford Bridge Farm. She is a mother of two and a member of Kensington Mums. Make sure you follow her blog here.
As Halloween is approaching is time to get ready: choose the proper costume, decorate your place, carving pumpkins, etc. Some kids are already counting the days for the treat or trick afternoon, maybe others are still a bit scared about all the skeletons and spider webs are starting to be on display at some houses and window shops.
Visiting one of the pumpkin fields can be a great adventure for the children though. As at Crockford Bridge Farm, where you can get your favourite pumpkins: orange or white, big or small, a completely round or the long ones. It is a fun way to spend some time together while deciding which are the appropriate ones. They will cost depends on the de size and kilos. Although the pick your own pumpkin is over you still can buy your favourites ones from the shop and carving them in the dedicated area during the half term week. As well
they have organised a related events during these days.
Also, you can enjoy some food, teas, coffees or pastries at the café. Another option is
to have an ice cream or a tea and some cakes from the cute huts near the play area.
Obviously, the children will want to be in this playground integrated into the environment for hours. The huge swing, the zip lane, the mountain of straw bales are the highlights.
Before going home the deli shop deserves a visit for seasonal, fresh and local produce
food. In the same space, you will find the nursery with a huge range of plants and flowers and many decorative items.
If you are thinking about a day out of London and you are getting ready for Halloween
during the half term it definitely is one of the places to be. And already looking forward to the PYO fruits and vegetables next summer season.
