IT Restaurant Review – Finally a trendy place to have a family brunch!

Location and Décor

IT London is the UK branch of the well known Ibiza restaurant IT. There is also an IT in Milan (which was recently awarded a Michelin star) and coming soon is IT Mykonos.  IT offers fine-dining in the chic Mayfair area. The place to be and be seen within the trendy Mayfair crowd.

A great place to enjoy the Italian food of Michelin chef Gennaro Esposito.

Tables are nicely set with polished gold charger plates. Thick curtains, statement mirrors, gilded lamps, marble tables and comfortable scalloped back chairs in various vivid green velvets all add to its rich décor.

Family Brunch Concept

They came up with an amazing family brunch concept where families can come with their children and enjoy a great time with delicious Italian dishes  and most importantly the children have a great time making crafts, playing and dancing in the upstairs room, led by professional entertainers and child minders.

Every Sunday from 12 pm – 4 pm they have a decadent bar with a wide variety of cold dishes, Italian hot classics at the kitchen counter and a delicious cheese and dessert counter.  For the kids Menu there is a selection of 3 different choices. Pasta, Pizza and Mini chicken Milanese with fries but children are also welcome to sample the extensive buffet.

Each week they have different children’s entertainers which really encourages the children to engage and have fun together. The most popular children’s entertainers of  London alternate so you have a great variety.  There are also The Kids Table staff that provide the children with a crafts’ and games corner where the lovely team is ready to entertain those who are not participating with the main entertainment and prefer to do crafts on their own.

Needless to say, this is a true delight for every parent; as they enjoy their brunch peacefully whilst their children are having fun!

Note: The target age is 3-10 but children under 3 years are very welcome with   an accompanying parent/guardian.

The Experience

family brunchWe booked in advance and we got a call the day before, to ensure we were coming.

At our arrival we were greeted by the lovely hosts who immediately asked to take our coats

They escorted us to our table  and a member of the staff explained to us how the brunch experience would fold out.  Shortly after being seated we were served a bread basket with mini focaccias, bread sticks and homemade crackers. We then directed ourselves to the bar with the cold buffet. The buffet has almost everything you can imagine. From chicken salad, rice salad, endives salad, beetroot salad, grilled veggies, salmon and yellofin tuna sashimi, baked polenta,  4 types of cheese and parma ham and vitello tonne, to name a few. Right after that we were nicely surprised with delicious mini eggs Benedict.  They were cooked to perfection and very tasty.

We then had little break and proceeded to have  the second hot plate that comes straight from the kitchen which was a short pasta with a lovely ragu that had been simmered for hours. This one was very tasty but a little too al dente for my taste.

We then were introduced to their famous IT gourmet pizza, a thin crust margherita pizza. A simple delight!

I regret that I was not able to enjoy the lamb nor the fish that they also serve as part of the family brunch but since my little one was almost waking up – we rushed to the dessert table.

Right next to the bar where the cold buffet is, there is a smaller table which displays the desserts. The selection ranges from fresh cut pineapple, strawberries, and kiwis with fresh crème and granola, pastries, Sachertorte, carrot cake,  a flourless hazelnut cake, tiramisu, donuts, traditional Neapolitan Babba au Rhum, mini biscotti, mini cheese cakes, amaretti,  and more.

We quickly tried the mini cheese cake which was simply the perfect selection to end with.

family brunchOur experience of the Entertainment Room

Once my little one was awake we then headed upstairs to the entertainment room where the little ones have so much fun.  As he is 2 years old we needed to be with him.  He thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there as the entertainer was from Amanda’s Action Club and he danced, sang and also managed to do some crafts!

After 1 hour of playing and enjoying it was time to go home.

I can’t recommend the IT restaurant family brunch more. It is indeed the perfect place to enjoy a delicious brunch and have the whole family fun included!!!

Well done IT London !!!
