Sanderson collaborates with Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé and leading charity mothers2mothers for an exclusive take on iconic Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea.
Sanderson have collaborated with Laurent-Perrier and mothers2mothers (m2m) to launch the Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Courtyard Garden. Kensington Mums was invited for an unforgettable afternoon tea in the Courtyard Garden which has been transformed into a hidden oasis within the hotel to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Laurent- Perrier Cuvée Rosé.
What to expect?
Upon arrival, you can’t help but notice the iconic garden transformed into a pink haven, full of flamingos and floral accents. , full of nature as well as a fountain and reflecting pool., The seated swing and fountain was my favourite and reflecting pool. The swing is adorned with pink roses for the perfect Instagram moment. Surrounding the chair is a flock of 50 flamingos, as remembered from Alice’s famous croquet match. The space is so colourful and playful and we couldn’t wait for the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea.
We were seated in a hidden “press” table on the top behind the fountain. I was joined by my friend and blogger Arnie to celebrate friendship and a late birthday. The staff greeted us and explained a bit about the afternoon tea experience and what to expect.
The menus are hidden inside vintage books, what a cute concept. As soon as we got seated we realized that the chairs were not very stable as we were seated on tiny pebbles and so we had a tiny accident with our little fingers. We informed the staff about this and the manager quickly came to speak to us after that. With the menu, came the sugar presented in a musical jewelry box, so quirky! What we soon noticed was all the attention to detail. The tea was provided in little potions with a name tag of each tea type.
The teas were each described on an individual card within a pack of cards which was such a lovely and novel idea and the waiter also explained the combination of the various teas available. The tea is full of classics with a twist, from Tweedle Dee’s lemon curd financier to Alice’s cinnamon, apple and peach ‘Drink Me’ potion.
After a few sniffs, both Arnie and myself decided on what to go for. As we were chatting away, also also taking picture of the beautiful setting, our our Teas soon arrived, in the most eccentric and trendy tea pots and cups. You will see these in the pictures too.
Soon after, arrived the most beautifully presented 3 layered cake stand full of intriguing treats, sandwiches and scones. It was hard to decide what to start off with! The sandwich plates featured ticking clocks and also includes the traditional scones with clotted cream and jams. Evert hing presented had a touch of Alice-inspired touch to it. For this special collaboration the Mad Hatters Cuvée Rosé Tea also included the Pink Floquet Cake – a strawberry flamingo with a white chocolate Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé croquet truffle.
