Family Day Out –
Open-air cinema experience with The Luna Cinema
My husband and I, have always liked spending Summer in London. Not really because of the amazing weather in the capital but mainly for its wide selection of pop-up outdoor cinemas. Yet, despite being film lovers and popcorn addicts, we’ve never ever thought to experience film screenings with our 1 year-old daughter.
Obviously this was way before, The Luna Cinema makes it happened. The mobile movie theatre runs in parallel of their normal program a family-friendly brand, Luna Kids Cinema taking place at Dulwich Park and Hampton Court Palace, with films aimed at tots to teenagers and their families.
Luna Kids Cinema kindly invited us to watch the new Dumbo movie in Dulwich Park and enjoy a nice time out in family.
1) Getting to Luna Kids Cinema
Living myself in South East London, our trip to Dulwich Park was very straight forward. You can either choose to come by bus or by car and park in front of the beautiful location. If you want to get the best seats, I’ll advice you to arrive just before the gates open. Did you arrive a bit early? No problem, let your kids have some fun in the massive playground just in front of the outdoor cinema.
2) Seat, Eat and Relax
Once on site, we’ve been welcomed by a lovely member of staff who provided us with seats for the whole family. We picked our place, seat comfortably, got some nibbles and enjoyed the screening altogether. The whole experience felt like a dream: we grabbed some delicious snacks for our daughter, got our own popcorns, drinks, burgers, ice creams and had even be able to change our baby on site. I was completely amazed by the organisation and how kids friendly was this place. In general, I always have to organise myself very well, if I don’t want to face a very stressful moment while I am going out with my baby. However during the screening at Luna Kids Cinema, my husband and I just sat, ate and relaxed while our daughter was peacefully eating her fruit purée in front of Dumbo.
3) One of the best activity to do with kids this Summer
It is always challenging to keep kids entertained during Summer Holidays. A family day out at a pop-up outdoor cinema is the perfect compromise to have fun with the kids while enjoying the lovely weather. Don’t overthink it, just book your ticket and get there, for the rest Luna Kids Cinema got your day sorted. They’ll provide you with the entertainment, food, drinks but also create amazing family memories.
