On Saturday 4th May Partridges of Sloane Square will be hosting Chelsea’s first annual Chelsea Bun Bake-Off Competition to celebrate World Chelsea Bun Day.

There are prizes to be won for the best young, amateur and professional bakers and for the overall Best Chelsea Bun Baker 2019.

The judges will include Phil Howard, Michelin Star Chef and Owner of Elystan Street in Chelsea; Chelsea Pensioner Marjorie Cole; John Shepherd, owner of Partridges and a representative from the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity.

All the proceeds are being donated to the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity which is striving to advance innovation and the use of technology in Paediatric Surgery.

They have various prizes to be won for each category:

• Junior Bakers (12 & under) – £2 to enter;

Prize: Crepe or Waffle Making Class for Kids at Chelsea Creperie.

• Young Bake-Off Wannabes (age 25 & under) – £5 to enter;

Prize: Icing Workshop at Biscuiteers.

• Have-a-Go Grown-ups – £10 to enter;

Prize: Champagne Lunch for two at Partridges at the Saturday Market.

• Business & Professional Bakers – £25 to enter;

Prize: 2 x Tickets to RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019.

• Over 65’s – Free to enter;

Prize: 2 x Tickets to RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019.
