Back to School With Action Amanda’s Action Hands

As our youngest children go back to school and nursery, hand washing has once again become a top priority and two London women are making sure that – in these unprecedented times – we all get the technique right.

Amanda Frolich, the CEO of Amanda’s Action Club, has been teaching her movement and activity classes to children across the capital for the past 30 years.  She’s entertained for celebrities, including Brad and Angelina, Declan Donnelly and the Beckhams and is now the UK’s Children’s Champion in Parliament – encouraging policy makers to put children at the heart of decision-making.  “I’ve spent the past thirty years working with young children, teaching them – through movement and songs – key social and developmental skills. My ‘Wash Your Hands’ song has never been more timely and that’s why I’m offering the video, free to download to anyone who wants it.”

Amanda teamed up with Sara Brennan, the Founder and Director of London Nursery Schools at the start of this crisis and through their Action Hands campaign have been promoting positive wellbeing across the whole community.  “We noticed that all the information and advice was aimed at adults,” explained Sara, “and yet this global health crisis has a huge impact on children too.  We joined forces to help young people understand what’s going on, reassure them it’s going to be ok and – through a book and a song – help get the government handwashing message across in a fun and engaging way.”

Now restrictions are easing, it’s easy to think that life is going to get back to normal,” says Amanda, “but there’s still a long way to go yet.  Children are going back into nurseries and schools where things are different.  They’re going to need more comfort and reassurance than ever before.  Through our Action Hands campaign we’ll continue to provide that and encourage others to do the same.”
