Kensington Mums reviews
Kensington Mums spent an amazing day around Mayfair and Piccadilly during the festive
season. The highlight of our day was having afternoon tea at The Cavendish Hotel. The hotel is beautifully situated on Jermyn street making it ideal for a stop in between shopping, theatre and exhibitions.
We were greeted by the friendly staff at The Petrichor Restaurant. Soon we were indulging
on a luxurious afternoon tea experience including Champagne, a diverse variety of teas and
sandwiches catering to various diets within our group. Their sandwiches include Hen Egg
with Truffle on Basil bread, Turkey and Cranberry Jam on Onion Bread (a delicious
combination and by far our favorite!), Smoked Salmon on Rye Bread (taste was very fresh)
and Cucumber and Cream as well Stilton and Cranberry Chutney Quiche (another winner!).
From the various pastry menu our favorite was the Winter Spiced Chocolate Brownie and
The Red Berry Cream Tart. The scones are done with aromatic Cinnamon and Orange and
are served with clotted cream and Strawberry Jam, you can check with the staff ahead if you prefer your scones the classic way.
The portions are quite generous, and we were stuffed! We found the overall experience
quite indulgent. The restaurant is spacious and not overcrowded, which meant we can enjoy our afternoon tea at our leisure.
We are definitely coming back to the Cavendish!
